Only a slight variation of the ranking for me:
  1. Spider-Man 2
  2. Spider-Man
  3. The Amazing Spider-Man
  4. Spider-Man 3
  5. The Amazing Spider-Man 2

I consider The Amazing Spider-Man 2 to be Batman & Robin level of bad, and I hope and pray to God that I never have to see that film ever again.

I still like the trumpet theme song Hans Zimmer did for TASM 2.

TASM 2 was much better than its given credit for. Giamatti's overacting aside, it was pretty great, actually. The opening was fantastic. The Electro battles were cool too. I wish they kept going, a little bit of recon and TASM 3 would have been great.

It will do well. There's no question about that because this has Disney AND Marvel attached to it, plus it's an official part of the MCU.

I can't imagine there will be another reboot after this. I can see the 2017 Spider-Man turning into the long-running franchise Sony want, as a result of being a part of the MCU.

I really wish they had just retroactively added the Maguire films to the MCU and either had him as a veteran or had him retire and train Miles Morales.
And why couldn't they have included Bale's Batman in what they're now doing? He could have become a master detective coming out of "retirement " after whatever happens to Robin...

This could have gone over with a bit of work. Man of Steel was in production prior to Dark Knight Rises; those films could've been connected...

3 should have set up the whole Venom thing at the end with the symbiote.

You don't mention how quickly Batman was rebooted from '97 to '05, and you also apparently don't count the Batman movie from the 60s which WAS released in theaters.
Let me more specific

Batman: (I was wrong, not 62 years, it's 49 but the series was pretty similar to the first movie)

Original:
Batman: The Movie (1966)

1st Reboot:
Batman (1989)
Batman Returns (1992)
Batman Forever (1995)
Batman & Robin (1997)

2nd Reboot:
Batman Begins (2005)
The Dark Knight (2008)
The Dark Knight Rises (2012)

Superman:

Original:
Superman (1978)
Superman II (1980)
Superman III (1983)
Supergirl (1984)
Superman IV: The Quest for Peace (1987)

1st Reboot:
Superman Returns (2006)

2nd Reboot:
Man of Steel (2013)
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016)

Hulk: You're right I counted the series (1978-82) which is clearly not a series of movies.

Agreed; I'd have preferred Eddie to have a very small role in the story, probably about the staff job and Gwen's affections. After the credits roll, we see his transformation at the church.

It was a sequel to Superman 2, basically. I don't think it really factored continuity in too much, but in every way that matters it was a sequel to the Donner films.

I kind of hope the Batman in BvS could be considered a sequel to Dark Knight Rises. I know officially he's not, but if they don't contradict those movies then it could work, maybe? Who knows.

I hate reboots.

Everyone, shhh! You'll wake the "I like The Dark Knight, but it's not a Batman movie" crowd!

Of the Nolan trilogy, "The Dark Knight" is the one which focused on Batman the least, in terms of its story. So in that regard, its not a "Batman movie". That said, I enjoyed it on my first viewing, and still do; Ledger gave that role his all, and everyone else stepped up their game, too. My only gripe is that Katie Holmes refused to come back; I generally hate recasting.

1966 to 1989 is only 23 years.

I get it though, Spiderman has been rebooted more recently than others, but its a rights issue. Now its with Marvel and won't be rebooted anymore.

You can't call a Batman movie about Batman VS the Joker 'not a Batman movie'.
