I also thought it was interesting that Best Buy stores were showing similar stock of the II, III, IV, V, & VI standalones and the 6-movie collection (mostly 2 each, a few with 3), yet there doesn't seem to be any panic about those selling out. Curiously however, Best Buy is now showing the standalone TMPDE 4K as sold out. Also Amazon is still showing the Complete Adventure in stock as of this moment, but I can't find a TMPDE 4K standalone listing there now. Last edited by KC-Technerd; 09-07-2022 at 08:27 PM. |

5 were at my local Best Buy on Tuesday morning. By 11am they were gone.
3 were at the one second closest. They were gone by 2pm. That's when I decided to in-store-pickup one from the third closest. They're now sold out there, too. Two stores in a 20-mile radius have one left. If I want to get another, I have to drive to New York. I also bought the last VI at my closest one. |

I wonder if they thought making the CA a in-store only purchase would drive foot traffic into their stores? One can only speculate if it were the other way around if the CA would be sold out at Best Buy by now. Hard to say with such a disparity in the price tag. ..... With regard to Amazon: Amazon is providing the discount that drives the price down to $83.99. The item is actually being sold by i-Deals Store On the CA listing there's two 4K options, one for $30.99 and one for $83.99 which is highlighted. If you click on the one for $30.99 it takes you to the listing for the 4K DE standalone release. Last edited by Number_6; 09-07-2022 at 08:37 PM. |

Third party vendors are charging $41+ when I pre-ordered for less than $26 so... I am not going to pay all that extra $$$. I cannot remember the last time I was unable to get a new release that I had pre-ordered. I would never have thought this would be possible with a major studio release. |

No, to answer the online exclusive question. The Walmart near me had them on the shelf on Monday, a day early, and I had to show them the online $83.99 pricing to get it matched. Other Walmart's in my area didn't get any of the Complete Collection sets, and if it's due to employee shortages and the individual 4k discs are sitting in the back room, who knows if they have any. Walmart doesn't seem to be in any hurry to stock or restock items. With the Complete Collection sitting on the shelf on Monday had me in shock. Target... forget it. Target doesn't seem to take this part of retail too seriously and they haven't even had the Complete Collection on their website. Best Buy is a puzzle. Ours had two, they sold out, then two more show up today, then sold out... this afternoon when I stopped in, one was in store. And all this time after the first two sold out, their website has stated not for delivery and sold out within 100 miles from me. Go figure. Amazon has been another puzzle. They've had a lot of listings change in the last few days, and if you read anything after people complaining about deliveries, it gets even more confusing. At times, a third-party seller is selling them on Amazon. Later, it's Amazon selling them. Huh? Good hunting, regardless of who you choose to confuse you. |

I'm sorry, I don't know what you're looking at, but bullmoose.com shows it in stock at all but one of their locations and is available for online order. Deepdiscount.com and Moviesunlimited.com you have to search "star trek the motion picture" to have it come up; searching "complete adventure" won't do it. Both of them still had it in stock and I was able to even up it in the cart. I don't know how else to help you. It's seem to be clearly available for online ordering. Bullmoose - 1 complete adventure.jpg Deepdiscount - 2 complete adventure.jpg MoviesUnlimited - 3 complete adventure.jpg EDIT: From the price, you quoted you seem to be referring to the regular 4K standalone release of the Director's Edition, not the Complete Adventure. The Complete Adventure is the one that's actually supposed to be limited ('once it sells out it's gone forever' yadda-yadda-yadda) The regular 4K release is showing currently unavailable/out of stock on the sites I mentioned. But that release isn't limited, it may be temporarily out stock but it's not "sold out" in the sense of not being available again. I understand wanting it NOW, but yeah there's no reason to pay an inflated price for it. If you order it from someplace Bull Moose they will get it to you in the near future when their stock is replenished. Last edited by Number_6; 09-07-2022 at 10:26 PM. |

I don't understand how they can call the German set "The Complete Adventure" and then omit its biggest selling point, the SLV. People who pre-ordered the German set are gonna be pissed when they find out. What's the reasoning behind omitting it? Is it a rights issue?

Sorry, to but in but i tried a find a blu-ray forum for this and was led here. I ordered the STTMPDE blu-ray and was looking forward to it and opened the package up today only to receive a copy from Amazon USA of Star Trek V with the Star Trek I label slapped on the back. Will be returning to Amazon hopefully for the correct copy. I have never had this happen. Please double check your copies.

Movie Trading Company got copies of the Complete Adventure and standalone editions. If you have one in your area you can check there.
