Frozen, sometimes, because of what features the disc/movie uses, it may need a firmware update for it to run, don't freeze on menus etc. I remember this was the case with the Terminator Salvation Blu, many had to upgrade

True, true. My bad.

I remember I needed to update my firmware when Young Frankenstein came out because it wouldnt get passed the menu without it.

I just assumed the Avatar disc was so barebones that they wouldnt try anything fancy with the menu. Just a full capacity transfer

just recieved word....it just arrived in Tulsa,OK

so I am thinking I will have it Friday....which is better because I have WOW raid tomorrow and wife cant watch till friday night....so it's all good

Couldnt you have walked into a B&M store tomorrow and gotten it, seeing as you paid for 2 day shipping, whatever deal Amazon might have given you on the BD I would think it would come to the same amount if you walked into Target and gotten it.

Look at the Dark Knight. Huge movie. Shipped with tons of extras, and ill bet they could put out another version with even more. With movies like this they document everything. They really are skimping out on this one here. If I buy a blu ray, why are they giving me a second disc as a DVD? Get rid of that crap and give me a small helping of extras and my mouth is instantly shut about this issue.

As you know, what you want is coming in November. The inclusion of the DVD is obviously a marketing thing. I am sure someone in the studio floated the idea of including an extras disc rather than the DVD. That idea appears to have been sunk...

If you're not happy without the extras buying this version seems an unwise choice (Rent it tomorrow). But, in the end it is yours to make. Come November you'll be happy.

Just a hassle getting to the store tomorrow with work and all. Payed extra for the shipping but saved some time and gas.

Avatar is a great movie and I was looking forward to getting this on blu-ray for awhile now, but reading the posts in here has really got me psyched about getting this tomorrow. Hopefully Amazon delivers and I get this tomorrow. Lately they have been using USPS instead of UPS. USPS is always a day late for me. I am an Amazon Prime member. Is anybody else having problems with USPS getting blu's delivered on the estimated delivery date?

Wafi, I bet most who ordered theirs have Amazon Prime which gives free two day shipping. The closest B&M store for me is a fight through traffic. This way it will be in my box tomorrow when I get off of work.

I have Prime and both UPS and USPS have worked fine for me.
