I actually liked the island tour maps, it does offer you something to play with and the whole unlimited arty and air strikes was interesting. Your given the access to the full map, with vehicles placed around the map, there appears to be objectives but I think there more for fun then anything else, nice landmarks and a literal playground with no baddies.


On the offense dlc mission.
You are given command of 4 fireteams, yours and 3 others with the purpose of taking a installation. 1 black hawk and 2 little birds.

(4 fire teams = 16 men) I have to say thats a large amount of forces to be marching with, 1 fire team is made up of only anti tank troops.

You can bring the hurt if you know what I mean, the enemy is defending on a mountain with a small fort complex, and some sams.


On the defense dlc map...
You are in a USA base about to be attacked by a massive PLA Build up, they are going to throw everything at you, attack helicopters, chinese troops, and anything else they can come at you with.

The base is being defended by several US Apcs, 1 empty apache, and several fire teams of US infantry holding up defenseive positions being mg nest and sandbags.

Survive long enough and US reinforcements will come in hard to mop up the enemy troops...
Can you hold the base?

Haven't had a chance to play the multiplayer maps yet so no comment there.
I purchased these but haven't played them yet. Isn't the patch due soon?

Kinda funny I remeber Red Orchestra when it was a free mod for unreal tournament..

This is based on modern warfare, China and Russia go to war, china raids a major oil oil producing island, and America is asked to help recapture it while Russia prepares for a all out war on its border.

There is a campaign mode which can be played solo or up to 4 man online coop, in which you play as 2 different teams, 1 team being Regular Infantry and the other being Special Operations Team.
There are several FTE's Single Missions that vary in length that are not connected to the campaign, same limits as in campaign.

There are currently two competitive multiplayer modes Annihilation and infiltration. And I have to actually admit that the less human players the better, as 1 man on each team is given full battlefield command, but human players tend to not listen to strategy.. and tend to not realize that the AI rely on human strategy.

Do not pick the commander squad if you have no intention to command.

I have to say I feel inflitration is at its best when its played 1vs1 in my opinion.

Annihilation is USAvsChina and both are at equal terms of strength and equipment.

Infritration is USA SpecOps vs China Regulars, USA troops will be equiped with better weapons including thermal scopes but will have far less troops then China who will have many more troops but few weapons with scopes and no thermal scopes.
In this Mode USA has to destroy a target that China is suppose to defend.

1st patch was already released, and live it came out a little before the first dlc, the next patch I believe is currently in q/a testing and the next dlc is going to be called Overwatch and will include additional multiplayer modes.

When I have more details ill update everyone here.

2nd patch and dlc are being worked on and should be close to completion more news when I get them.

The 2nd patch what I know so far, "Whilst I can't go into more specifics just yet the patch on all formats is going to make the MP experience a lot more smoother with improvements coming in for hit registration, vehicle control input lag, animations being skipped/missed etc. The ease with which people are able to find, join, and start games is also being adressed."

Quite a few single player/co-op improvements to come as well!

The 2nd DLC what I know so far, "What I can confirm right now is that the DLC pack is called "Overwatch" and will include two brand new new multiplayer modes with new maps, as well as additional single player/co-op content."

Thats all I know so far, and now everyone and I know the same.

  • Ammo counter for Fireteam leaders in PvP matches now counts down the remaining ammo correctly.
  • Weapons rotations for a.i. gyrostablised weapons are no longer updated if they've not got a target set.

  • Weapon OSD for the M134 Minigun in the AH-6J Helicopter now displays the correct number of rounds loaded (9999)
  • Helicopters no longer make inappropriate wheel contact suface sounds sound when flying over grassland

  • Players stance is now correctly maintained after operating an emplaced weapon
  • The damaged vehicle icon no longer becomes stuck on screen if the player is spawned into a vehicle just as it becomes critically damaged.

Great game but a few frustrations. I usually tell my "team" of idiots to defend a nice safe position behind some rocks and do the missions solo.

That last mission, I had to blow up the AA armour and I came to do the second one and their were all these friendlies standing around is croched on three sides firing rifles at it - not my team. I couldn't get them to move. I ended up having to launch the rocket at it when they were still standing there. Very frustrating.

I've got nice high small arms accuracy though - 47%. I run on single shot all the time.

Btw something fun to do, play a infiltration map private with only yourself and one other, it becomes a match of wits.. commander vs commander if you will.. which I find very interesting.

Overwatch Dlc has hit the US playstation store..

It adds 2 new game modes each with 2 new maps each and 2 fire team missions.

Blindside pits a team of attackers versus a team of defenders in an objective-based mode that sees the attackers tasked with completing three objectives, while a team of defenders goes all-out to stop them. The attackers can complete the first two objectives in any order, while the third objective is only accessible once the first two objectives have been completed. In addition to having to overcome the defenders, the attackers are also under a time limit set by the host.

Yes people still play it picked up a blind side match a couple of nights ago, through not as many as there once was..

There are 3 difficulty modes.

Normal - This is full hud, can use 3rd person camera on vehicles etc.
Experienced - Less Hud, can 3rd person camera on vehicles
Hardcore - No hud, no 3rd person camera on vehicles, and increased enemy aggressiveness..

Online Game modes

Coop
-Campaign
-Single Mission (Fire Team Mission or any Campaign map)

Competitive
-Annihilation (TDM)
-Infiltration (HiTech vs LoTech)
-Blindside (Requires Overwatch dlc)
-Supremacy (Conquest)(Requires Overwatch dlc)

The games selling points are not graphics and more towards scale and ballistics, generally you can see gravity's effects on munitions as they slowly dive down to earth, bullets can ricochet which I have a funny story about..

I was flying a little bird and and I was practicing in Island Tour which is a open mission with no enemies for practice and playing around.. well got very very close to a building and opened fire with my 2 guns on the little bird the bullets ricocheted and killed me in the chopper..

Dlc packs:
Skirmish Pack
*island tour (day and night configurations)
*Uphill battle (your placed in charge of 4 fire teams launching an attack on a bunker very large scale mission)
*All Round Defense (You must protect a base from a massive PLA assualt)
*2 Annihilation missions
*2 Infiltration Missions

Overwatch
*Friendly skys (your tasked with eliminating 2 Sam sites and taking the sector your in command of 1 fire team 2 apcs with reinforcements byair as soon as the Triple A are down.
*Hostile Takeover (your tasked to take a village and hold it to PLA counter attack optional air reinforcements if you take out triple A)

**Word to the wise Sam Sites are very dangerous to infantry, Chinese Triple A are equipped with 4x25mm autocannon which make infantry ex infantry very quickly. See Pictured attached



Not only does it have infared which makes infantry and vehicles glow in the dark its 25mm cannons have a rate of fire of 600-800 rounds per minute.The cannons are used to engage targets out to a range of 2,500 meters and at altitudes of up to 2,000 meters.

*2 blindside maps
*2 Supremacy maps

Also if you read back I offered information to unlock 6 fire team missions for free using special bonus codes. If you do buy this game make sure to enter those in.
