Outside of being as good as Wrath of Khan and First Contact, the Prequels beat them all.

As much as I loved the latest Star Trek movie and believe me when I say this, it was awesome, I still have to defer to The Empire Strikes back. To me, that is a masterpiece. The Star Wars prequels were nothing more than eye candy, but the original trilogy were excellent.

Which is proof positive that Lucas should have handed over the directoral duties of those prequels to someone else.

Simply put, regardless of what is a better movie (which can be subjective), Star Trek (2009) won't be talked about 30 years from now. Even the prequels set innovative records with being the first film entirely shot in digital. The Star Wars films are films people value and hold close to them and will for a long time. Star Wars was an innovative film that will be talked about for many more years to come, and Star Trek is....not.

Actually, people still talk about Star Trek: TMP and it's 30 years old. Wrath of Khan is 27 years old and it's considered the best Trek ever. I suspect, plenty of people will be talking about the 2009 version for a long time.

Okay you guys keep saying, but "Star Trek" has that stuff too, and "people" still talk about the Star Trek 30 year old movies. But let's be honest, Star Wars is much more world renowned than any Star Trek movie was and will ever be. 30 years later the Star Wars movies are looked at as innovative. I love the TV show "Lost" which has action figures, but really how many places can you go and find them? Do you not realize Star Wars still holds a HUGE amount of nearly every toy section? My point being, Star Wars is still looked at as an extremely important movie in the history of film. This Star Trek (2009) or any other Star Treks have not and WILL NOT ever touch Star Wars based solely on that fact.

And I'm not trying to diss on Star Trek, I myself do not enjoy watching Star Trek because It's always been more calm and Sci-Fi based. I respect the fact that its subjective and others enjoy it more than Star Wars. However, it needs to be acknowledged that Star Wars is a more important franchise in our history.

No. Not really. No. There's some stuff, but not so much.

In fact, Star Trek figures haven't been a regular item in stores since Star Trek First Contact.

Star Trek is the most widely broadcast show on earth, I heard a report saying that no matter what time it was, Star Trek was being broadcast somewhere on earth.

That's saying something.

Star Wars. You cannot remake the original star wars and because of that, Star Wars is better.

If given half the budget I could remake Star Wars.

They don't exist where anyone who's not a collector can get them.

At least anyone who's a fan or likes Star Wars can go buy something.
