I haven't seen it yet, but I'm almost certain you are correct.

I grew up watching the original Star Wars trilogy, so I am very partial to SW

That said, I like Trek! It just doesn't match up to Star Wars for me.

Star Wars. Better characters. No crappy films. Just better all around.

Star Wars will always have the Holiday Special and TPM, but Star Trek will aways have Voyager, therefore Star Wars will always come out ahead.

I am a fan of both, but SW gets my vote.

Star Trek clearly imo.

Star Wars for me, has never had that rich universe that Star Trek has had nor has it sufficiently tackled human or philosophical issues in as much depth. Additionally, if we're talking action - the new film is far more entertaining than any of those Star Wars prequels.

Star Trek.

All Kirk would have to do is deliver a double fisted punch to Luke and Luke would wine and complain for the next 3 hours.

I don't even know why Star Wars gets to be in these polls. It's irrelevant. It was good 30 years ago, comparing it to anything but TOS of Star Trek is like comparing Titanic to Gone with the Wind.

Star Wars is still current. Clone Wars for instance.

And the last film didn't come out that many years ago.

Star Wars probably wouldn't be around if it weren't for the original 60s show as inspiration.
