sheesh talk about cliche
Kid logic is not always sound logic, but it is something they do. How many times did you cower under the covers thinking the boogeyman couldn't come after you, if you did so? Cliche? Yes. Does it happen alot even in normal "I'm afraid of the dark" moments? Yes. Therefore I wasn't at all too bothered by it, when compared to other parts.

[Show spoiler]Which made the second cameo by Malcolm actually advocating for co-existence that much more stupid and against his character. In JP the fool never would have said something that inane.

I watched this last night, and overall I enjoyed the movie and had a fun time watching it. I really liked how the movie was shot, and the use of lighting and shadows in a lot of scenes was very effective. There were a few individual moments/shots that are some of the best in the JP films. I also thought that the opening sequence was probably the most suspenseful and entertaining scene in the movie.

I would have liked to see the pacing slowed down a bit, it never felt intimate or that you could really experience what the characters were going through, the story was bouncing around and it was just one action scene after another. Also, I thought the characters are extremely one dimensional, even Claire and Owen have very little to offer in terms of actual development throughout the first two films.

But, overall a fun summer blockbuster, glad I watched this on the big screen for sure.

Yes, we can, provided that they are restricted to an isolated area, much like the sanctuary island mentioned by Lockwood.

And not all of the dinosaurs were predators.

It's a matter of responsibility. In the movie, we brought those beings back to life. Should we let them die out (again) because it's convenient?

There are silly things in this movie, but the "ethic quandary" is not one of them.

The entire franchise centers around “humans attempt to isolate and contain the dinosaurs and the dinosaurs saying EFF THAT and killing a bunch of people”

I think there’s another in-universe evidence that coexisting is a failed experiment.

The first cameo
[Show spoiler]he argues against the rescue mission during the senate meeting

The second cameo
[Show spoiler]is where he says humans must adapt to them, which I took as co-existing. In my mind he should have said kill them all, or we're extinct. We cannot simply adapt to them.

Mmm no.
[Show spoiler]He's saying we've now been forced to adapt to something, because of our own hubris and inability to think ahead. Just like with all our other major scientific leaps, we've created something that may just end us. Welcome to a new age.

As Ian Malcolm said, "Welcome to Jurassic World."

I’m the opposite with this one. Hated the first half, loved the second. It actually got really exciting once they got to the mansion and the sense of horror was a really nice touch. Having a super intelligent dino chase you around a mansion is terrifying.

Did anyone else find it hilarious that they showed the Indominus Rex as a virtually clean skeleton in the water?

I caught two Dolby Atmos screenings. One was in a regular CIH multiplex theatre and it wasn't that special. The second time I heard it on an auditorium that was designed for IMAX 15/70 and has a screen that's as big as Lincoln square IMAX. Only that it's folded down to 1.89:1 now and is no longer associated with IMAX (Just regular dual 4K).

The sound was tremendously good. Bass was heart-pounding and surround channels were dancing. I don't remember the last time I've felt so enveloped by environmental sounds (it was likely with AVATAR in the same auditorium) as with this movie, with the Atmos track. There was impressive sound panning across the theatre, overhead and the like.

The picture was 2K and quite pixellated from having been blown up to such a large size and that sucked at a few places as I clearly saw the zagged edges. Even the picture shook and started breaking into pieces like they do when you have graphics fault due to low RAM. But the large size of the image compensated for those mishaps.

I didn't like that they ditched and didn't find a closing to
[Show spoiler]Geraldine Chaplin's character. We get zero closure on her character after having possibly more screentime than Malcolm.

I cannot believe they killed off both Owen and Claire at the end. Ballsy move.

For realsies, though, I'm finally seeing the film tomorrow, nearly three weeks after it came out in the UK.

I really don’t understand why anyone would come on A message board to a film after it has been released if they haven’t seen it yet. That’s asking for trouble.
