I am format neutral, but I only have 6 HD DVD's compared to 40 blu-rays and I was wondering if anyone else will rebuy their hd dvd titles on blu-ray if it ends up winning the format war?

Yes, I already have done so, and I will continue to do so going forward, as I find my PS3 to be a much more reliable player than my HD-XA2.

I will if the encoding is better. I'm done buying HD-DVDs. Probably going to trade my HD DVDs for blu-ray movies.

Me too. I only have 4 HD-DVD titles. Well, Actually I have two more that I am trying to unload, so I don't consider them. One of the HD-DVD titles is on Blu-ray also, so I may consider rebuying that one. I got that before I got my Blu-ray, but since that, I have only purchased one HD-DVD, the rest have all been BD.

I have both formats, the Xbox 360 add on, HD-A2 player and my Playstation 3. The only reason why I have HD-DVD is because I got so many free movies I wanted that were only out for HD-DVD, besides that, I am all blu-ray 100% and all of my bought movies are always blu-ray.

owning a cheap HD DVD player is tempting when you can watch the 1st Matrix, Batman begins, Troy and a few other worthwhile movies...

if there were more RECENT movies coming out, I think they probably wouldn't be getting outright slaughtered as bad as we're seeing..

but as they say..."you get what you pay for"....not in all cases, since the PS3 is pretty much a mini-computer that plays PS3 games and plays BD movies..

This has turned from a neutral member thread to another HD DVD-bashing thread. Aside from the initial post, everyone has layed into HD DVD.

I've got 10 HD DVDs. 1 Weinstein, 2 Warners and 7 Universals. If they all came out on BD I would re-buy them on BD and ditch the HD DVDs so that I only had one format to deal with.

On 2nd thought, since some of my Uni ones are combo discs, I might give those to family members who can use them.

i already sold all my Hd-dvd equipment while there is still a demand for it. The titles i had like king kong, bourne, and fearless ill be more than happy to re buy once they are released on bd. i actually ended up making money off the deal because i bought my hd-xa1 at best buy for $200 because it was an open box clearance item and i sold it and all my movies for $500 months afterwards.

Why would I buy them again? I have 204 HD DVD titles and they will still play in an HD DVD player 10 years from now. There are people that still watch their betmax tapes and laser discs. Even if HD DVDs stop being made. The current discs will still be playable in the HD DVD players. The only reason to buy again would be for a newer version if it came out on BD(Blu-ray Disc)

I have about 100 BD's and about 50 HDDVD's. I would have loved to be format exclusive to BD, but the stupid war and my greed prohibited that

Should universal go neutral and do new encodes for BD with uncompressed or lossless audio and HD special features, It is something I would strongly consider. I am not buying another HDDVD player, this much I can tell you now. If my player/players break I will most likely chalk up my losses and sell this stuff off. This is something I could see happening too. Last week while watching Harsh Times on my xbox360 I got the 3 red lights and my console shut down. When I re-booted my xbox360 didn't even detect my add on drive. Several plug in/unplugs later it finally showed up. I am not sure what happened there, I think maybe my Nyko inter cooler was turned off by mistake, and when that happens its doing more harm than good. That was the first catastrophic failure my 360 has had, but I worry about it's future after that. My other player is the HD-A1, need i say more?

I have already started replacing my HD-DVD's with Blu-Rays, but unfortunately, of the 60 HD-DVD's I have, half are only on HD-DVD because of Universal.

Technically I am 'format neutral' but I can't recall the last time I used the A1.
