The 60GB is way better than the rest.

I suggest you hold on to it.

Mine had the same problem before. I used a vacuum hose to get rid of the dust. it works. and the Console is quieter. + the PS3 doesn't sound like a jet. get a 360 and you will see what I mean.

Slightly noisy but way more awesome. You'd have to pry my 60 from my cold, dead hands.

I'd swap my 60 GB PS3 for a 160 GB one. I don't care about the PS2 compatability and my 60GB is full of game installs and updates. I wonder how much I could get for it on eBay.

Just buy a dang harddrive and install it!

My 60GB is now a 320GB. Western Digital 320GB 7200RPM 16GB cache Scorpio Black from Newegg for $80 with free shipping.

I don't know why so many people complain that the PS3 puts out so much heat and it being loud. My receiver...hotter, my TV...hotter, Xbox 360...hotter and louder, computer...hotter and louder. DTS Master Audio 7.1 soundtrack cranked up for theater-like sound....louder than everything in the building and completely canceling out everything else!

Most of the noise you're hearing from your PS3 is the fan. PS3 hard drives are very quiet so upgrading it won't make much of a difference.

HEY BUD, don't listen to alot of these incensitive people LOLMAO. Everybody has an opinion and some will try to DRILL IT into u cause it's what THEY have or want. I can relate to u bud. I know where ur coming from cause i had the 60 gig and that fan noise messed with my surround sound and i didn't like the noise LATE at night. Plus i HAD TO HAVE the BACKWARD compatibility withOUT having an EXTRA system taking up MORE space. People here just don't understand that not everyone has nor WANTS to have mulitiple systems taking up space. If u r ok with that, hey more power to u but not everyone shares their logic. What i did is i REPLACED my 60 gig with the 80 gig metal gear solid bundle. It has a BETTER antenna, VERY LOW fan noise compared to the 60 gig, and as for the lack of most ps1 and ps2 games, that's BULL. Go to the SONY SITE and u can compare the 60 and 80 gig ps1 ps2 games they play and u will see the 80 gig actually now does MORE ps1 ps2 games then before. The 60 gig backward compatibility has many issues with SOME older games that the 80 gig mgs 4 bundle does NOT. AGAIN, don't listen to people, go do ur homework and check for urself. It now plays almost ALL of the old school games. I've NEVER had a problem playing ps1 and ps2 games, while my 60 gig gave me a few problems with the older final fantasies for example.
