sure do.

True Lies, T2, Terminator, The Abyss, Aliens, Titanic, and in three months time our eyeballs will be raped by Avatar. 100% flawless track record. The man is a virtuoso director.

Hitcock, Scorcese, Cameron, Spielberg, and Kurosawa are the greats. They're those directors you wish had eternal life.

My favorites are Tarantino, Boyle, Del Toro, and Paul W.S. Anderson.

I don't pay attention to the director of films. Most of the time they didn't write the story so if the story is crap then no matter how good they "direct" the film it will still be crap. Also the actors have to be good or the film won't be.

Also, I've learned that I don't care for "artsy" movies and prefer the flashy scenes with big explosions and hot women in skimy outfits.

FYI - 2001 was a horrible movie in my opinion.

Yeah cause Deniro was the star of Gangs of New York, and Color of Money was all about Gangsters and Deniro once again all over the place. Nevermind Deniro and his gangster apostles in The Last Temptation of Christ... then the Aviator... damn gangster Howard Hughes.... and when Deniro played the lead in Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore... well, atrocious.

It's not about money it's about the quality in film making. Why do you want Greedo to shoot first...stop messing up Star Wars.

Oy....

All the changes made to the OT don't even change the plot of the films.

They are still the same stories.

So what if there is cgi here, a blaster fire extra there. Why does it really matter THAT much?

Greedo shot first...I don't care. I still see Han the same way I did before. A bumbling renegade pilot who ends up being quite a hero during an intergalactic war between rebels and those in power. Quality in filmmaking? I honestly think script writing aside, the OT is THE best trilogy of all-time, nothing else comes close. Star Trek may have gotten the genre going, Star WARS made it legendary.

We have coqui2k to thank for that. Honestly, while George Lucas may be my FAVOURITE director of all-time for numerous reasons, Steven Spielberg is probably the most consistent one. He rarely makes clunkers and does just about everything well. He sure does like to over-use Tom Hanks though.

Getting a little off topic here but the only change I can't stand is greedo shooting first. It actually does change the story by the fact that is a key moment in the introduction of one of the main characters in the film.

Jeez I can name 5-10 directors right now that are better, not to mention all the dead ones. Now I said Director, not writer, not producer, not special effects pioneer. You said DIRECTOR.....

the sad thing is after looking at this board for months 90% of you think fast paced big explosions and great special effects make a film. Too bad most of the crap Hollywood spews out now is just that....crap. Want to see great film? Go to an arthouse theater and get away from the mainstream stuff. You just might be amazed at what you see.
Then why do you own Mainstream movies if they are crap.
