While its great that all the bds are sold out a casual shopper looking at titles will see 300 on Dud and not available on Blu. The retailers have to start ordering stock in larger volume for new releases. You can't sell what you ain't got.

The BBuy's in the Napa, Cali. area still have stock of both 300's.
The CC website has Blu 300s to ship out, but HDs are backordered.
My wife just picked up 300 Blu at the Napa target, she said there were only 2 Blus left and about 6 or 7 HDs sitting there.

None at mine either (or HD DVD for that matter). But the salesman said they got in twice as many copies of the Blu-ray version and sold those out in half the time.

I was quite surprised when I went to Best Buy after work. I didn't buy 300 yet. Still waiting for Target to even get them in stock. I bought Roving Mars.
I went around to where they had the Blu-rays and noticed they had probably about 5 left where they only had 2 HD DVDs. Now, before you say anything. they had had two spots for Blu-ray and one of the spots was completely empty, whereas there was only one spot for HD DVD. When I was walking rount the rack to the other aisle I noticed that they had more Blu-ray discs and HD DVD right next to the standard DVDs. (Hope no one got confused and picked up the wrong thing.) It looked like they had one row of each, Blu-ray and HD DVD from top to bottom of one rack. There seemed to be more HD DVDs left over. But it was hard to tell. Maybe they had only had two in each stack that went from top to bottom. If they had been full...... They could have potentially sold a ton of each. I don't know because I wasn't there when they opened, so I don't know how many of each they had, but it sure looked like they had stocked more Blu-ray discs. They typically have more Blu-rays available since they have two HDTVs connected to Blu-ray players. Each has a little display of movies under them, but one has a whole rack near it, so I would say they display twice as many Blu-ray discs as HD DVDs.

My local Wal-mart had there whole 300 hd-dvd still in there row while the blu-ray 300 were out in there rows, I asked the guy that I had called before I went there to see if it was in stock and he said, "yeah, this is the second time they had to fill the blu-ray side with 300 so I have to go to the back to get you a copy and I will have someone stock more in a minute, sorry for the inconvinience" WHOA! Stay blu homies

I went to my local Target tonight to buy 300 on BD and they were all sold out. However, there were still four HD DVD copies.

I had to call 2 Walmart's this morning at 5 a.m. to find a copy of 300 on Blu... I didn't ask about HD-DVD, but I was surprised that one Walmart was sold out and the second only had 1 Blu-ray copy left at 5 a.m.!

When I left the Wal-Mart I work at, all the BD copies were gone. We didn't even get the hd dud version! We did however still have a ton of copies on SD.

300 on Blu was sold out at all the Best Buy's in my area, Circuit Citys had em sold out, and another major local retailer also was sold out on blu for both Shooter and 300, but had plenty of HD-DvDs.

In fact, the huge Best Buy near me had it sold out before noon today.

They got in over 200 copies they said. They sold about 2 a min.

When I first checked I thought the Best Buy in Lynnwood, WA was out of 300 on both formats. But then I noticed that they had some of each in with the 300 display in the middle of an aisle with DVDs. There were quite a few copies left on Blu-ray (probably 20 or so) and I saw 2 left on HD DVD. I moved those and about 12 copies of Blu-ray over to the normal sections for them.

This is big for Blu-ray and I can't wait to see the numbers. I tried to buy shooter but no dice! 300 purchased and already viewed. 4 Blue-ray virgin group viewings to go....at least. As for someone buying a format (player) because a hit is in stock is not an issue.
