there are alot more "in tune" people on this forum than I.....I surfed a lot looking at the different threads and went and auditioned a few brands offered up here and i came away really liking the paradigm sound......

out of the companies listed I would go with Paradigm even though I don't own any myself I've heard them a few times and they are amazing.
I own Definitives and Klipsch speakers so these would be my other recommendations.
The easiest way I can describe this is: the Paradigms I've heard put less of themselves on the sound...they are truer sounding to me.
Definitives are more bass oriented in general so they color the sound a little because of that.
Klipsch are very loud and bright sounding which also adds a really obvious signature to the sound (which can be a good thing of course if you like that kinda sound).
The paradigms that I've heard fall right in between to me - neither bass-heavy nor bright, neither loud nor quiet...Just right!
that's my 2 cents

I used to travel to other countries a lot and collected VHS movies and other videos in other formats. Occasionally, I watch them and remember the good old days.

Sony owned AIWA. They stopped marketing their products in North America, but it is possible that they are still selling some products in other countires.

Incidentally, you can find the best speaker companies in the following link.

I am sure that if you go onto some of the websites of some of the companies your interested in you will find that there are dealers that you don't know about within 1 hr of where you live. Good luck, on your list, Energy and Paradigm would be my 1-2.... in that order.
Thanks bro

Hey deeman,

Here is searching from richmond, va..... I don't know where you located at in VA, but if you use the where to buy/dealer locator option on the companies websites you can find places you never knew about.

I heard a good amount of different brands of speakers at my local listen up including some of the big audio names before finally deciding on a 7.2 Def Tech setup. And when I took em home and broke em in they sounded way better at my place than in the demo rooms. Price wasn't an issue at all I went for what sounded best to me.....well 15,000 would have been around my limit.

Hey BD,

These pictures are especially for you:

Not the most audiophile quality of configuration but the wife will take credit for that but it works nontheless

Hmmm...now that I'm looking at the pictures, maybe I can get some tubes to warm up the sound on the Aiwas

EDIT: you can catch a glimpse of my senheiser wireless headphones on the top left behind the TV.

Hahahaha! When I got my first Dyns in the basement, I wanted to put my Onkyo 605, and 5.1 Def tech Procinema 1000 set up in the BR but my wife would not have it. Guess where it ended up?? At her parent's house

All LFEs my friend! We don't even use the Aiwa for movies(although the Denon BDP connected to it) it's just for back ground music.

She say's our whole condo will be a theatre! Son under a lot of protest, I gave up my Def tech and 605 but as a consolation, her parents paid me a little bit anyhow It turned out alright because I have the Roth music cocoon tubes and the Dyn Focus 110s in the living room now

Check out the tube glow on that little Roth

BTW, I'm waiting on Sean to show up to do some wire management for me.
