New firmware Version 2.60 for Sony bdp-S300

Does anyone know if it is technically possible that a future firmware upgrade can add the HD sound decodings (DD TrueHD & DTS-HD Master Audio) to this player? Or do we have to buy a new player that by default has these decodings?

I believe they can add both TrueHD and DTS-HD HR via a firmware upgrade. The S300 does not possess enough on-board RAM to deal with DTS-HD MA decoding. We can only hope Sony will provide a firmware upgrade for it and not leave us out in the cold having to buy new hardware.

Thanks. Even if we have to get a new player, thier own $1300 ES player does not decode DTS-HD MA, WTF??

Looks like Pioneer Elite BDP-95FD is the way to go, and it is even $300 cheaper than Sony ES.
