It's my least favorite of Sho's ninja movies because of the comedic tone, but I can see why some people enjoy it, and would buy it on Blu-ray upon release.
I dunno...is he in on the fact or not?! And I know the film very well because its bloody hilarious.

The bad guys make Suicide Squad look completely normal!

9 Deaths... was one of the most gloriously campy movies made, and yeah I'd totally plump for a BD release of that. Hoping Shout Factory or someone else that can do a better job than Mill Creek get a hold of it.

I love love love the Arrow discs. I am hoping that this Germany release is a preview of what is to come.

I love his cheesy movies. I need to get Blind Fury. Glad there is a better alternative out there.

Thanks for the heads up. This is unfortunately the same German company that released BLACK EAGLE in a print that looks like an oil painting, so...

Can a North American release be far behind?

On thing that is interesting is that there's a second disc on this release labeled "Behind The Scenes".

Hopefully a review of this will appear soon.

YES! Awesome! I know their quality is often crap, but they often have special features, which I love. Close to having a complete Kosugi collection on the format now. Happy camper!

THE MASTER (1984) TV SERIES is coming out on Blu-ray!!!
https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/The-M...lu-ray/188627/

I never thought I'd see this series released on Blu-ray. This is an absolute must get. Sho not only doubles Van Cleef, but he's fantastic as the villain Okasa.

I just wish they'd use this image for the Blu-ray cover instead of that lame B&W pic of Van Cleef.

Wait - The Motherf'in Master is getting a Blu release?!? Oh hell yeah! I am SO buying this!!!!

Nothing says Kung Fu than a badass Lee Van Cleef* doing some chopsocky on everyone
else in the room.

*Well, a guy in a mask pretending to be Lee Van Cleef.

I remember seeing this as 2 re-edited movies called Master Ninja I & II on VHS. How long did the series run (total running time)?

13 episodes in all. Each running about 46 minutes.

For anyone looking for information about this or any other Sho Kosugi project, I highly recommend the Sho Kosugi: The Ninja fansite (http://www.ShoKosugiTheNinja.com). It has lots of articles, tons of great pics, an extensive NEW Biography, Blogs, etc..

Looks like there's another Sho movie coming to Blu-ray soon: Black Eagle

https://www.blu-ray.com/news/?id=22176

I'm not familiar with the MVD Entertainment Group. Hope their print is better than the one used on the European releases.

This release has both the THEATRICAL VERSION and the UNCUT EXTENDED VERSION and is packed with EXTRAS including new interviews with Sho and his son Shane. FREAKING AWESOME!!!

Special Features and • High Definition Blu-ray (1080p) and Standard Definition DVD presentations of the main feature.
• Original 2.0 Stereo Audio (Uncompressed PCM on the Blu-ray) and Dolby Digital 5.1.
•THEATRICAL VERSION of the film (93 min).
• UNCUT EXTENDED VERSION of the film (104 min).
•NEW/MVD Rewind EXCLUSIVE: Sho Kosugi: Martial Arts Legend (HD, 21:26) (featuring new interviews with Sho Kosugi and Shane Kosugi and more)
•NEW/MVD Rewind EXCLUSIVE: The Making of Black Eagle (HD, 35:50)(featuring new interviews with Director / Producer Eric Karson, Screenwriter Michael Gonzalez and stars Sho Kosugi, Doran Clark, Shane Kosugi and Dorota Puzio).
•NEW/MVD Rewind EXCLUSIVE: Tales of Jean-Claude Van Damme (HD, 19:20) (Brand new interviews with cast and crew tell stories about working with the legendary action star).
•NEW/MVD Rewind EXCLUSIVE: The Script and the Screenwriters (HD, 27:14) (featuring Michael Gonzales, Eric Karson and more).
• Deleted Scenes

So weird that 9 Deaths of the Ninja isn't on Blu yet. Fairly awful and probably his worst movie, but I absolutely loved it as a kid. Would buy it in a heartbeat on Blu!

I haven't seen it since the mid-90's. The cheesy James Bond wannabe title sequence sticks out in my mind.

Believe me, that's about the least memorable thing about this film! There's so much wrongness its too hard to count... Still umming and aahing about one of those German mediabook editions.
