Only people who are shallow idiots or feel they have personally been screwed by Sony.

Ditto! All he cares about is watching himself talk on his website.

Does this not bother anyone else but me?! Why would you go through he trouble of making a video of yourself talking about something you already wrote down. Egotistical.

I wouldn't take anything he says seriously. His opinions change with each new article he reads.

FYI, the reason I get so pissed at people who say that Sony formats always fail is because it's just more FUD. Trying to undercut belief in Sony is a direct, blatant attempt to get people to not buy Blu.

C'mon, Mystik is not trying to cut down Sony at the knees. In essense she is saying that failures are often better recalled than success. Countless people rail America for losing the Vietnam war. It was our failure. But how many people rave we got on the moon first? One truth doesn't overwrite the other.

Thank you TRON, I was not bashing Sony at all I stated was the perception that is out there. Like it or not it's out there and Sony knows it that why I said they shouldn't concede anything to Toshiba. If anything Toshiba needs to concede to Sony.

If I was anti-Sony why the hell would I be such a blu supporter?????

Conceding to HD DVD makes little sense. Conceding to another format makes NO SENSE, even if it is digital downloads. Movies are not music. The logistics of keeping those files is a nightmare to the average consumer.

Everyone, please repeat after me.

"There will always-always-ALWAYS be a market for hard media."

None of the sformats SONY created has lost, BEtaMAx is the number one and only choice for studio use; MD (ATRAC/ ATRAC 3 Plus)still the best choice for musicans, music mixers, field reporters and HUGE in JApan and ASia, UMD relatively HUGE (comparing to DS) in PSP.

and shame on ppl adapted MP3 we took a HUGE leap backward in history and CE tech, if only ALL ppl understood ATRAC and MD better, we would be having something SO MUCH BETTER than MP3 with its horrible Ipoo.

People have to realize that Blu-ray is here to stay. Even if the PS3 is an absolute failure this generation of videogames, it's still going to sale 40-60 million units worldwide. That guarantees that Blu-ray will always be around and content will always be released for it. The same can't be said for HD DVD. It is very possible that within 15 months the only studio releasing on HD DVD is Universal.

i use both formats but bluray is the better choice hands down , whenever i put in a HD DVD i just pray to god its going to work , owning and watching 100+ blu rays never had a problem with my rays or my player.

and im in the process of selling my ps3 game collection to found my blu ray habit

I'd like to know your reasoning behind that. Out of the BIG studios we only have 2 hold outs. Paramount / Dreamworks, and Universal. Warner is neutral and remains so for the foreseeable future. Paramount was neutral and speculation tells us there is every reason for them to come back to being neutral come the end of 2008. Why would Universal be the only stick in the mud?

Hey, I loved my old DOS computer. I tweaked my own memory settings and it ran EVERYTHING great. I went kicking and screaming to Windows 95, but I went. Mostly because the DOS library of software was drying up. Universal has no reason to wait other than holding a grudge.

The market demand is out there. once everyone supports blu-ray, even with 3 neutral studios, the demand for BD will sky rocket.

And no where did I say I was pissed at Mystik, nor was I referring to Mystik when I said people spread the reputation as FUD.

I even agreed with Mystik that the reputation is out there.

It does not change the fact that being pro-Blu and repeating the FUD doesn't help, nor does it change the fact that the "Sony never produces something which doesn't fail" is complete and utter FUD.

This is BS.
WB already had in development the Total Hi Def discs which could support both formats on one disc.. and guess what.. they CANCELLED it cause the format war can not be won with an intermediary format.

Swanni is just some average guy. His opinions mean squat. Sometimes he seems right on, other times he is way way off.
I tend to ignore him cause he thinks he is all that but he really isn't.

The CD alone should invalidate that reputation.

Here is where a single format can backfire. If that single format is NOT blu-ray, it not only pisses off the entire BD camp, but it will CERTAINLY piss off knowledgable consumers waiting for BD to win. If the best technology format, which is also the best selling format, does not win - many consumers will throw up their hands and follow my lead. BUY NOTHING.

I agree with you completely. If HD DVD wins, I will not buy into it because I believe it is doomed to failure long term. I will spend my hard earned cash on a high quality upconverting DVD player and that will be it.
