Has anyone actually had a problem with disc 5 of Blade Runner? - Blu-ray Forum

Recognizing how easy it is to start a rumor and spread it, I was wondering whether anyone has actually found that Blade Runner has two copies of Disc 1 and no Disc 5. I went to Target last night, picked up the last copy of Blade Runner on BD in stock, and it had no such problem. So I'm wondering what the fuss is about.

For the amount of news coverage this is getting, you'd think that one out of every two or three sets has this problem. I suspect the problem--if any--is actually much, much, much less significant.

I'm unlucky -- didn't get one of the rare disc 5's with the disc 1 content. Everything was perfect.

(Sorry, I'm the kind of guy who loves too see stamps with the face upside down or something.

Mine allegedly shipped from Amazon on Wednesday via DHL 1-day, and it still hasn't arrived. So, can't tell yet.

Finally got it Saturday (marvelous DHL 1-day service). Watched the final cut, and checked the 5th disk. OK here. (No missing/loose/duplicate.)

From the responses of people who have been affected(on AVS), this is only a Canada problem...

I'm Canadian, however I ordered from Amazon.com, and got the proper discs. Watched the final cut tonight, and it was fantastic.

My 5th disc works just fine, although 2 of the 3 bd discs have rough edges, which I'm worried about in the long run.

The 5th disc is the workprint version, which I doubt I'll even watch, but it makes me happy that it works.

I got it for Christmas... and yes... the 5th disc is in fact Disc 1... only it has the Workprint label on it instead.

Somebody screwed up again.

I verified my copy is exactly as it should be.

Stinks for the people who were inconvenienced, but it doesn't appear to be too wide spread.

I just noticed this on the Amazon site. If you didn't receive the proper disc 5 Work Print in the 5 disc Collectors Edition you can call Warner at the number indicated:

NOTE: A small number of Blade Runner 5-Disc Ultimate Collector's Edition briefcase gift sets and Blade Runner 5-Disc Complete Collector's Editions in the Blu-ray format may contain an incorrect disc #5 labeled The Work Print. In some cases disc #5 does not have the work print content but rather the content of Blade Runner: The Final Cut, which is already included in the collector's set as disc #1. The only way to recognize the error is to play disc #5 and go to the Special Features page. If you see one commentary track by Paul M. Sammon, the disc is correct. If you see three commentary tracks, then they have an incorrect disc. To receive a correct replacement Blu-ray disc #5, please call Warner Home Video at 1-800-553-6937.
