It's astonishing to see how uneducated people are when it comes to grain. The grain effect as seen in 300 was obviously done on purpose. Couldn't people just see that?

I guess not.

+1

She will notice the better color and detail in the Blu version after showing her the upconverted DVD.

Yeah but i'am comparing budget too.. after LOTR, i expected better from Weta.. i was greatly disapointed as it look as 'cheezy' as the 1918 version, the worst part his the Dino Chase, can you say PASTED!(even if it's a classic and started the whole Frame by Frame phenomenon, i'am comparing that to todays standart not the time)

Read all this and become strong like a true Spartan. Or better yet have her read it while you practice your swordmanship.

Grain... How to deal with Grain...

Film Grain

I now see film grain

2001, Close Encounters, Pirates - Film Grain

Poll Would you prefer 300 with or without grain?

The "300 is grainy!!" thread

At times, I wonder, do you just collate those these common response threads together in a text file somewhere for ease of reference when a dead horse topic comes about?

The problem is that the movie was rushed to meet the deadline... which is unfortunate. Yes, the chase scene was badly done. It looked pretty bad especially on a big screen. However, they did show some quite good stuff, for instance, the New York City. It's quite an achievement considering the fact that they built it and then added the rest using CGI. I didn't find the dinosaurs to be real enough either, nor King Kong. :-/

300 is a prime example of how good high definition can be. You won't see those details on the DVD. Surf's Up has the same backlash, when it reality it is one of the best HD transfers out there.

Ah, so you just get motivated to do it each time the dead horse twitches . Good deal.

See I'm more of a jerk, I'd just post the link to the search results .
