if you want a cheap 5.1 set with decent sound check out the polk rm6750's. you can find them on amazon for about 250. you could even find its better counter part the rm6880! those sound pretty good for their price tag (appx. 500) but just remember, rarely do bundles available at retail sound that great.

My Onkyo HTIB came with the 540 speaker set, and they are truly quite nice. Go with the 540s, and upgrade your speakers as time and money allows.

You can buy some regular speakers that are better then the HTiB type speakers, the set up that I use is nice. here is what you can get them for at ugotadeal.com

Sony SS-F7000 $155/pair
Sony SS-CN5000 $64/ea
Sony SS-B1000 $43/pair (add another pair for 7.1 setup)
Sony Sub SA-W3000 $124/ea

Total Price is about $386 + tax and Shipping.

I scared myslef last night watching Master and Commander at the opening battle scene. I wasn't expecting the cannon ball to come through my livingroom. LOL

Ive said this before and i hate to sound like a broken record, broken record, broken record (just joking)

Check out pawn shops in your area,You'll be surprised what $400 will get you. There's nothing wrong with used speakers.Ive saved over $2500 in speakers because of pawn shops. What do you have to loose?

What ever you choose to buy an go with i wish you the Best
