Monster does make good power conditioners.

On a long run, saw 30'+, would cable matter then?

K so not to draw any flak from anyone, but I use monster MP3 interconnect cables (3.5mm to 3.5mm) to run some of my devices to my computer when I don't have my USB MIDI unit on hand, and they are far better than any other cable i have used of the same type, with the exception of the little tiny one that came with my Klipsch iGroove

PS. there are some things I will buy monster for as a quality thing, like the above application, and others I buy it simply because I get it really cheap (there is a lot of markup by the stores) and I'd rather buy the monster cable over the generic brand one that costs only a few dollars less (like the 4m Monster Video 3 S-Video cable I keep with me in my laptop case for hooking up to TVs for slideshows that costed me $25 and the generic brand one was $19 and used a hard plastic connection from cable to end, no flexibility)

I really feel sorry for the consumer that doesn't know any better.I can see someone like my father going in to buy his first plasma(lcd)and being coned by a salesperson thinking that he's buying the best possible cables out there. It really burns my ass.Ive seen there hdmi cables go as high as 200 bucks(come on!) A lot of People are just learning about hdmi and there an easy target,But i truly believe monster will have there day when consumers will learn about there scam and won't look twice at there over priced 3 dollar product's.Do there cables work.YEP,So what there not made out of magic and fairy dust.

go to any retailer and they will deny that site and still claim that you HAVE to have Monster to get your full money's worth out of your entertainment center. I wish I had known this before I got my Monster 1000 Component, 1000 Fiber Optic, 1000 Speaker Wire, 600 Sub Wire, Monster S-Video. O well, live and learn. Of course that was several years ago and my friend got BB discount bringing the total down to like only 30% of the retail cost, boo ya! I just returned my Monster 1000 HDMI cable and ordered myself a $12 HDMI cat. 2 cable from monoprice, ah the joys of saving money and getting the same quality if not much much better
got sucked in to man. i have several z series cables and some monster optical cables and such. it's a shame. that's for sure.

I have never used Monster cables because I thought they cost way too much. I did buy a 35.00 HDMI cable at walmart(Philips brand) and compared it to the same length 1.87 HDMI cable I got at Amazon. Used both cables with same equipment and same Bluray disc. Not a bit of difference. The last time I needed longer HDMI cables I bought 3, 15 footers at Amazon for a total of 35 bucks. They work great.
It's not that Monster makes bad stuff they don't. It's just not better than everyone elses as they claim and their pricing should be investigated because it is gouging in my book.

monster speaker wire does make a difference

hands down, when i worked at circuit city we set up our own demo, with a switch to control which speaker got sound (one with monster, one with some of the cheap crap most of the people on here buy from monoprice)

when u switched mid-song, back and forth, the difference was night and day.

monster component wires make a difference
monster speaker wire makes a difference
monster digital-optical wires make a difference

everything else is a waste of money

Ricky tee 78.So you compared monster up to, what did you call it"cheap crap"Never heard that brand .while yea i bet there was a difference's if i was promoting monster i would also look for something that was crap to compare it to, so monster looked better or sound better.I wouldn't compare it to another cable that made it look bad you know i can go down to the dollar store today and buy speaker wire ,Was that the wire you put up against monster.I'll say it again. they don't make bad products, just crazy over priced. It's all a great marketing scam and the consumer pays."Try this it makes a difference"Makes a difference comparing to what?Come on brother.

Monster Cable markets to the people who believe "You get what you pay for". These people believe there are two product grades: Cheap (low quality) and Expensive (high quality).

In reality there are usually three product grades: Cheap but mostly adequate, Inexpensive and high quality, Expensive and high quality. The uneducated consumer usually goes for the expensive products when quality is an issue to ensure that they're buying "the best" (this is where Monster Cables come in). The educated consumer does research and gets high quality items at a much lower cost (Monoprice fits in this category).

Monster Cable is not bad, it's just geared toward people who don't want (or have time) to do the research.

I've purchased monster cable for speaker wire in the past, and even component cables, and an optical I think. With my own searching, I've decided, for myself, that Mono-price cables were fine.... I never did any comparisons during the time I was buying Monster Cable brand, I just thought "costs more $$ must be better" I was buying Monster brand during the time I had a $2,000 5.1 system.... I now have a $13-14,000 7.1, and all my new cables (HDMI etc) come from Monoprice.

My system is up to $7100 I use 12 gauge for all 7 speakers,2 hdmi crds,SW cable and some rca cable(5.1 analog)1 optical,And some cords and wire iam not even Using, maybe 200 hundred i spent.I look for quality cables reasonable price(iam always shopping around)and really, maybe someone out there thinks i spent to much. But i know it didn't cost me over 4 hundred dollars and i know one cable didn't cost me 200 dollars. i could of bought into the hype and my system runs just as good as if i spent more money now you might think how does this guy know if his system would sound the same,(i have 2000 dollar front speakers and of course i want the best sound i can get out of them).while iam 39 years old and been through many systems and cables(monster included,Yes i said Mon$ter)So through my life experience of audio and video this is my conclusion as a consumer. You have to shop around and a salesperson sometimes gives half truths(its like mixing fact with fiction)and some sales people are really good at what they do .(not saying there all bad)investigate in everything you want to buy. Ask questions. There's no stupid question!I live by this motto"you burn me once shame on you ,you burn me twice i must be a dummy. the biggest one is if i find the sales person is getting up set with questions i ask him or if he's getting mad if i disagree with him,i just turn around and walk away.Believe me when i say there not always right. Most just want the sale.(a sucker)

I dont buy into the monster cable bs. But that doesn't mean I don't like their company. Sure I would never buy an HDMI cable from them but I have a $200+ power conditioner from them and when I broke it they sent me a new one no questions asked. Also I like how classy and solid their screws and tips are and the comfort of knowing that once I buy that cable I'll never have to re buy it if something were to go wrong.

What difference does a power conditioner make? Why would anyone need a power conditioner and not simply a surge protector?
