Best Buy is cutting a few select titles down in price, not across the board

They're not overpriced. This is what they cost.

fye is prone to price that way. Now that Best Buy for the most part has eliminated their selection of HD-DVD, their BD selection should grow and they're always going to beat fye's prices whenever the price differs.

Suncoast does the same thing, avoid those wretched places.

Any DVD stores that you will find in a mall(Hollywood Video or FYE) are always at list you will not find a deal there on a Blu ray or even on DVD.

Amazon or Best Buy and Walmart.

Amazon. Amazon. Amazon. Amazon. Amazon.

Cheapest prices, no tax, and free 2-day shipping with Prime.

The one issue I've ever had was that I Am Legend didn't show up. I called Amazon on the third day and they called UPS with me on hold and found out that the package was lost. Without even questioning me, the sales rep immediately placed a free order for I Am Legend in my cart with free 1-day shipping. It's like that regardless -- your shit gets lost in transition, and they send you a new one with free 1-day.

Wow I didn't even know Suncoast was still around! The few we had were gone years ago....probably because of suggested list pricing.

There are still some in my area (in the malls). I'll occasionally buy movies from there if I can't find them anywhere else. Prices are kind of high though. Wasn't sure if that was just because they're located in the mall or not.

Hitman (Fox) is at crazy Fox pricing, and yet had sold >12% of all discs on Blu.

Go figure.

"You know what really grinds my gears" THOSE pricks at FYE! $32.99 for Terminator 3 on bluray. What a joke. They won't price match, and to get movies at a reasonable price you have to get their member card, which saves you the equivelant of tax on the movie, and they charge $30 for a membership fee anually. Jackasses. I'll never shop there again.

I can't stand FYE. Besides it's in our local mall here and I don't shop in malls. Ridiculous prices.

I agree with you about eBay but the coming trend for these big volume dealers is to go up $10 to $15 per BD disc.

Those dealers are selling stolen discs, or discs from BOGOs, those prices are simply not sustainable otherwise

Cost on Casino Royale is over $20 wholesale before Ebay fees

Default Blu-ray pricing increase

As I anticipated, since HD DVD has lost the format war, Blu-ray players and discs prices are increasing. It's unfortunate that though there is relief that Blu-ray finally won, that the format war is over, that pricing is going up.
It would seem that the competition was good for the consumer in one way, LOL.

See the following site for more info:
http://tech.yahoo.com/blogs/patterson/14249

However, I believe that the websites like Amazon and the various BOGO offers they provide can help people like myself, it's unfortunate that I still have to pay $30 for a Blu-ray like "Unbreakable", which I already own on DVD, when I can buy the Blu-ray "Terminator 2" for $15. What gives?

What's funny is that the same "old" link was just posted by someone else a few minutes ago. Funny how these things always come in waves. Anyway, looks like we're in for another wave of FUD.

Link to the thread just posted about this a few minutes ago: https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...ewpost&t=44974

Both HW and SW will drop in price. It's a vested interest for the manufacturers to make Blu-Ray work and to get people to buy. By Christmas of this year you will see many a bargain.

I love how people walk into the worst place in the world to buy a DVD or a CD even and say "Wow! Blu-ray prices are high!"

I've only owned a Blu-ray player since Jan. and I've paid less than <$20 per CD... and it's not like I'm only buying Beer League and Stargate. I haven't even actively tried to save money.

This post is pure BS.
Unbreakable Amazon Wal-Mart Even at the woefully overpriced Best Buy
Not a single one over $25.
