I watched it online last night and thought it was a pretty cool movie. One of those films that makes you curious about the backstory. I'm hoping the blu-ray is not region coded, but if it is... I'll pick up the DVD.

Has anyone had a chance to watch the blu-ray version? I'm curious about the region coding or if it has english subs before I pick it up. Saw it at a film festival about a year ago and the movie is excellent.

It has english subs and even an english dub (which is just horrible btw, at least the few minutes i have listened to it).

Says region locked B on the box, will try to see if i can verify that.

The film is really great, so is the video quality. Of course the shaky cam can make one nauseous, but that just suits the film and its pace very well. Overall one of my most favorite Blu-rays so far.

It can (among other things) analyse the movie stream and show you the codecs, framerates etc., probably based on reading the flags.

this is from DVDcompare.net

Quote:
1080/50i transfer, using VC-1 compression. BD-50. Extras are in standard definition (576/50i). Confirmed to be "R0" (packaging states "zone 2").
Warning NTSC PS3 Owners: 1080/50 is a PAL format and will not play in a NTSC PS3. There has been one confirmed report in a Japanese system that the disc loaded to a black static screen only.

I thought that with blu-ray there was no more PAL/NTSC??

It's not exactly PAL, but you would have to make sure that your player supports 1080i/50 (50Hz). Most european HDTV broadcasts are in 1080i/50Hz as well btw.

I have bought my copy from fnac.es. I am in Germany, but they should ship to the US as well.

You can use dvdgo as well, they have an english website
http://www.dvdgo.com/home~category_p...g~EN~sec~1.htm
but one member reported some problems with them wanting some sort of confirmation for his cc.

There is a UK / Italian / Scandinavian release scheduled btw.

I would assume it doesn't until it is officially stated that it does. Obviously a region B PS3 would support it, but if your in region A territory you would be advised to steer clear of this one.

So is this confirmed as region coded? Because I really want to own this one.

I own "Perfume: Historia de un Asesino", also released by Filmax and that's region free. Hopefully, this on is, too.
