Yeah I am bitter. I spent $600.00 on a Blu-ray player(PS3) and all they release is sub par movies at best. Do they want this format to survive or what. Now's not the time to save the big guns. They'll be saving them all the way into the ground(where the format will be if they don't release some quaility titles). where you at on Lake Erie? You said it yourself in your profile. I quote,"Regardless of the Format, the Movie has to be good!!!!!!"

You can't have everything now. Catalog titles do not a format build. It's the day and date releases which will bring new people to the blu-ray fold. As the installed player base (households) grow, you'll see more catalog releases. But you have to be patient. You have to also remember, that although it's inferior, these titles ARE available on DVD to buy or rent, or perhaps they are already in your DVD collection. You can enjoy these films in that format while you wait.

I understand you don't want to. When I pick out a movie to watch, it's invariably from my smaller blu-ray rack than my thousands of DVDs. We must be patient.

West-Cleveland.

Yeah... basically I'm saying I won't buy a movie (like Sunshine) because it looks/sounds good.... it has to be a GOOD MOVIE.... that being said.... I spent about $800 on a DVD player in 1997 (got a cheap one!) I spent about $800 on a CD PLAYER a couple of years ago...... and I spent $400 on each of my PS3s...... Regardless of what you're doing to prepare for blu-ray.... do you really want the studios to just start hacking out crappy transfers???? Kill-Bill looks pretty good upconverted, so just keep watching it, and in the meantime, other good titles keep coming out! (can't wait for these Criterion releases)

Like I said..... you should have been around in 1997 when DVDs were impossible to even find in the stores in my town!

Seriously man.... you obviously don't have much of a grasp on the studio's business model, or market saturation, etc... I would never claim to know it all, but you're just angry because movies "you" find good aren't out...... And obviously movies that were just in theaters, regardless of their success, will be the next in line for Blu-Ray/DVD...... there are still movies out on VHS that have never been released on DVD.......

you like those movies..... we get it..... now just be patient.
Let me get a pack of Red Apples and, a box of matches.

I have 1,100 DVDs or so, and 50-60 Blu Rays..... (about 20 are double-dips) I still netflix standard DVDs for older/obscure stuff, and I still watch my favorite DVDs (godfather a few days ago, for the umpteenth time) I do prefer the Audio/Video from Blu.... but I usually watch DVDs, because someone will start a thread here like "when will Kill Bill come to blu" and I'll think... "man it's been awhile since I've seen that" and that happened about 2-3 weeks ago..... I saw the thread in the "wish list" page, and I went home and watched it, and found the up-convert pretty nice.... and it sounds SICK too....... since my audio system is fairly new (and vastly better than my old one) rewatching a lot of movies has been very enjoyable to me.

Bottom line is that this is another case ( just more long winded than most ) of some arm chair interweb expert thinking that they know what is best more than other people and even more so that their opinion is somehow more valid than other people's.
All movies will come.
If you have sand in your bits about the Tarantino crap not hitting blu yet do not blame blu ray blame Weinstein.
They are the ones dragging ass in releasing movies.

(I'm sure they're WAY out of my range, that's for sure)

EDIT.....

Reservoir Dogs is out, and it's the Best Tarantino movie

I'm sure it's out of my range. I live in a condo so I can't blast it too loud. I got my stuff at HHGregg. I'd have to say Pulp was the best, IMO. I might be looking for a new reciever that can decode the lossless audio. Onkyo preferably. My sister lives in Arizona and her boyfriend and her have some service called Voodoo or some similar spelling. It lets them download movies to play in their theatre room. He got a Sony Ruby projector
