I would buy this show on Blu-ray in a heartbeat. I don't have the DVD's anymore so hopefully they release it soon.

Totally agree with this!
I would also add 80's hair metal as well!

Tangent Alert:

Considering how the 80's has a resurgence right now, and considering that cop shows are just as popular as ever, I think they should make a tv show that's a "spiritual sequel" to Miami Vice. Set it in the 80's, but here's how you save production costs from using popular songs, while ALSO keeping things fresh: Use NEW music that sounds like the 80's. For example:

This guy has the Jan Hammer sound down pat:

For the car chases scenes:

For night driving/cruising scenes:

For gun/shoot-out scenes:

Just a few examples. I could go on, but you get the idea.

Awesome! Just awesome!
I've been in an 80's loop for 2 decades now, and it doesn't show any signs of slowing down!

Glad you like it. There must be something like 500 artists making music like this. They're all over soundcloud, bandcamp, and youtube.

My love for that song has still not changed, it doesn't matter how many years will pass the 80s will have the best music in my opinion.

Just found this on a Miami Vice message board:

http://www.miamiviceonline.com/forum...ami-vice-in-hd

Again, not sure if this is true widescreen or if it's full screen zoomed in. Judging by the intense close-up on Tubbs, I'm guessing the latter.

These look great, hopefully when the Blu-rays gets released they will release it as 4:3.

Dude, I'm pretty sure the show was shot on film. Which means there would be a widescreen version of the episodes. Why we didn't get it on dvd, I have no idea. However, if not, then yes, keep it in full screen. I HATE when they zoom in a full screen picture and label it "widescreen".

Does anyone know what is up with the DVD prices? For the longest time it seems like the seasons were around $9.99 and now they have shot back up to the $20-$25 range.

No idea. I do know what you're talking about though. Last year Best Buy's site had seasons 2-5 on sale for 10 bucks each. Season 1 was still like 30-40 bucks though. I snagged seasons 2-3 from BB, but season 1 I bought used (like new) on either ebay or amazon for around 15. Haven't bought seasons 4 or 5 yet and I'm probably not gonna since I can count on 1 hand how many episodes from those 2 seasons that I truly like, lol. Maybe if I can find them for like 5 bucks or less. Would be nice to have the sleeve to put them all in.

The last 2 episodes of season 4 and the first 2 episodes of season 5, in case you're wondering, hehe.

Someone over on the Miami Vice message board pointed out to me that there are film prints that are still in the 4:3 ratio. So if a blu-ray release ever does happen, and it's still in 4:3 format, then I guess that they're right and that no widescreen version of the show exists. As for now though, I think the jury is still out. Putting the first episode in HD and zooming in to make it look widescreen was probably done quick and on the cheap. So I'd like to still think that it's still possible that the widescreen versions are out there.

If a "fully restored" complete series of Airwolf is coming out in UK in a couple of weeks, then surely a Miami Vice release is possible.
