Mummy 3:The Dragon Emperor
Ehh. The story seemed rushed and half assed and the actress who replaced Evy(Rachel Weiss) just wasn't doing it for me. It looked amazing on Blu but other than the fact Brendan Fraser's son looked to be just a few years younger than him and other inconsistencies it was average. It'll most definitely be a movie I'll never watch again.

The Day the Earth Stood Still: The kid in this movie is flat-out annoying. This is a rental. The best part of this Blu is the trailer for X-Men Origins. Very Nice.

Pearl Harbour - remembering not liking it but a friend wanted to see it on blu. I still don't like it.
Burn after reading - I can say I like it, but am not sure how much. I have to see it again that's for sure.
Enter the dragon - need I say anything.

Miracle at St Anna
Rented this because I enjoyed Malcolm X and Inside Man. Enjoyed the first forty five minutes but it seemed to split off into two different films at one point. One was a masterpiece, the other (the story of the Buffalo soldiers) was absurd and incidentally comical instead of endearing. All in all, it was quite a mess. I feels like Spike Lee wrote and directed only half of this movie.

My Name is Bruce
Easily the most enjoyment I've gotten out of anything Bruce Campbell has done since Army of Darkness (and yes, I'm including Brisco County Jr). While a lot of fans of the actor definitely have issue with the b-movie feel of the picture and Bruce Campbell's poking fun at himself they're missing the point of the film. Campbell and Raimi's performances elevate this to b-movie satire. Great movie. Funny as hell.

Midnight Meat Train
The change in picture and sound quality hasn't really wavered my previous impression of the film. Its one of the better recent horror films, and surpasses the quality of the last major Barker effort (Lord of Illusions), the soundtrack is great and casting isn't bad. Really, its just another horror film mistreated by Lionsgate that deserved a wider audience than its likely to ever get.

Bird with the Crystal Plumage
About the most I could probably hope for, picture-wise, considering the age of the film. Easily the most enjoyment I've gotten out of this film. A great giallo, and I can't wait to complement it with my new copy of Four Flies on Grey Velvet.

I like to rent before I buy. I'm not big on blind buys.
