I know, there's that whole chunk of his career that isn't represented yet. I just picked up some of his movies from the last ten years (one of my coronavirus projects have been therapy by collection organizing/upgrading, haha). And I was looking at the DVDs from the Dreamworks years and wishing that somebody would do something with them. And, additionally, some of the movies from the 90s that I still haven't seen yet (MIGHTY APHRODITE, EVERYBODY SAYS I LOVE YOU as two big ones).

MELINDA AND MELINDA would be nice as well.

I was hoping SCOOP would appear within Kino's Focus stuff, but I guess not.

Oh, wonderful! Thanks.

I heard it from someone on a film group page. I was verifying it, LOL.

I'm really happy about that one! Great cast, and I love the films of that era.

Kino usually does exclusive announcements on their Facebook/Twitter accounts each Saturday and Sunday. Saturday's announcement was Never Steal Anything Small (1959) and Sunday's announcement was The Choirboys (1977).

I'm still hoping we have a date sooner than later for the previously announced "Love Me Tonight" with Jeannette MacDonald and Maurice Chevalier. This is a Universal title. I saw this for the first time ever on the big screen last year and instantly fell for it. It also sparked by curiosity for other Jeannette MacDonald films. I've been keeping an eye out for it. Its probably one of the best movie musicals I've seen...and I've seen a lot.

Coming June 16th!

Mary, Queen of Scots (1971)

• NEW Audio Commentary by Film Historian and Critic Sergio Mims
• Isolated Music Only Track with Commentary by Film Historians Nick Redman and Jon Burlingame
• 1971 Promotional Featurette

• Optional English Subtitles

• Dual-Layered BD50 Disc

• Theatrical Trailer

Color 128 Minutes 2.35:1 Rated PG-13
Acting legends Vanessa Redgrave (Isadora, Julia) and Glenda Jackson (Women in Love, The Maids) star in this sweeping portrait of two of the world’s most fascinating leaders, Mary, Queen of Scots and Queen Elizabeth I of England. Redgrave earned an Academy Award nomination for her stunning portrayal of Mary, who returns to her troubled homeland following the death of her husband, the King of France. From the moment Mary reclaims her throne, Elizabeth (Jackson) seeks to oust her, fearful that Mary will one day have a son who will ultimately rule both countries. Aided by Mary’s deceitful brother (Patrick McGoohan, Ice Station Zebra), Elizabeth schemes to arrange an ill-fated marriage between Scotland’s queen and a vain nobleman (Timothy Dalton, The Lion in Winter) with allegiance to Tudor England. Mary and Elizabeth’s undaunted quests for power leave a trail of deception, murder and holy war. Directed by Charles Jarrott (Anne of the Thousand Days) and co-starring Nigel Davenport (Play Dirty), Trevor Howard (Outcast of the Islands), Daniel Massey (Star!), Ian Holm (Alien) and Andrew Keir (Quatermass and the Pit), Mary, Queen of Scots was nominated for 5 Academy Awards, including Art Direction-Set Decoration, Costume Design and Score (by the great John Barry, The Ipcress File).

Time to update that post again...

Great announcement this. Only picked it up on DVD recently, but happy to upgrade.

Kino Insider - I'm not sure if you're still answering questions, but I'll have a go. You once said that you had 'at least one' of the films from this list:

Bingo Long Traveling All-Stars
The Greek Tycoon
House Calls
The Last Married Couple in America
Mary, Queen of Scots
Same Time, Next Year
The Seduction of Joe Tynan

Now that Mary Queen of Scots has been announced, is that it for this list, or do you have any more titles from it? Thanks.

It's coming, we're only releasing around 30 title per month. Be patient.

Wish we could get a remastered Blu-ray of COMA (1978).
One of my favorite thrillers. Would love a Collector's Edition from KL or Scream Factory.

BarnDoor:

BINGO LONG is from 1976, so we can eliminate that title. It will be at least one of the remaining five from my original list.

The Insider did say 'there's more', so I have to think it will be at least two. But as always we'll just have to wait and see.

I think The Last Married Couple in America is very likely, because they have 2 from 1980 and the only options are as follows:

In God We Trust
The Last Married Couple in America
Little Miss Marker
Skateboard Madness

Skateboard Madness seems unlikely, so it's most likely 2 from 3 there.

As for the rest, they can only have 1 of House Calls, Greek Tycoon, and Same Time Next Year, given there is only 1 title from 1978 currently in the deal. I now think the 1978 title will come from this group, and I think the 1979 title will be The Seduction of Joe Tynan.

KL Insider:

Do you plan/expect to release both The Ipcress File and Continental Divide before the end of this year? Thank you.
