I'm sure Alicia Vikander will be fine. She might not be the most intimidating figure but she had her feisty moments in The Man From U.N.C.L.E. Crystal Dynamics deliberately made Lara shorter in the rebooted continuity anyway, so it's not like this Lara needs to have long legs and triangular boobs.

My main concern with the new film is that they're supposedly pursuing the 'Lara goes in search of her father' narrative which is kind of a bore. Sounds like it's gonna be a mix of the second and third eras of Tomb Raider.

I agree that it sounds like it could end up being kind of a bore. But who knows? Maybe they'll surprise us! And I'm in for Alicia anyways.

Precisely. She doesn't spend her all of her time in the gym lifting weights and practicing multiple fighting forms. She spends most of her time being active in the outdoors and fighting the elements. So the picture you posted is more apropos. Basically not this:

Trust me, no one loves Kate more than I do. But she's getting a bit old for this sort of thing. She's 43. If they want to make more than one film, you're talking a 50 year-old playing her by the end of the trilogy. That's not gonna work.
