Many of the Disney blu-rays start off super high (yes over $30) on Amazon and other retailers. I used to be one who complained about it as well. Both Up and Monsters Inc were both over $30 on Amazon. Then when release day hit I paid less than $20 for both. And even if the price were $32 (which it won't be) it will be $22-$24 after coupon. Unfortunately there's still many blu-ray movies in the mid $20 range on release day and Disney is almost always cheaper than any other retailer out there if you buy on release week if you are willing to print off a free coupon.

nathan_393 : I believe you
![]() Ok, enough *****ing about pricing...I find The Incredibles on dvd has great PQ so I can wait a while for the price to become reasonable. Although I am excited about its blu release. It's about time I say. |

Exactly! You may get lucky, they may label it a super-low price as a typo, but they always honor those! I do it for the lock-in.

Actually right now at Target the 2 disc "Toy Story 3" is 29.99 and the version with DVD & Digital Copy is like 34.99 I think.
I think it is natural to worry about price. Some things don't drop like we want them, or they do after the fact. I paid $22 for "The A-Team" at Target, Day 1. Decent enough but 6 days later it was $15 in store, $13 on Amazon. |

Exactly (again). I'm not sure why, but Amazon had How to Train Your Dragon listed for $18.99 when they first put it up for pre-order. I put my pre-order in when I saw that because I knew I would be locked-in for no higher than that price. There was little chance it would be any cheaper anywhere else, and yes, the price eventually went up before release day. It didn't matter for me though.

Yeah, it looks like they're considering it to be a "classic" Pixar film and re-releasing it in that fashion to remind people about the franchise before they release the sequel.

Cars may not be a "classic", but I enjoyed it a helluva lot more than Finding Emo (not misspelled).

![]() I think the reissue is as much because Disney is trying to reissue most (if not all) their catalog BDs as combo packs as it is the sequel. They've already reissued the original Tinker Bell as a combo (TB2 & TB3 were combos from day one). On 2/8, they're issuing BD/DVD combos of Dinosaur, Chicken Little, Meet the Robinsons, Enchanted & Beverly Hills Chihuahua (all originally BD-only) and The Princess And The Frog (originally BD-only & BD/DVD/DC combo--I assume Bolt was skipped due to the pending BD3D). Same on 3/1 with the first three POTCs as BD/DVD (though the fourth one may also influence that). Last edited by RBBrittain; 01-20-2011 at 11:59 AM. Reason: Expand |
