Watch this movie second time today.

I have to say that this movie has absolutely no script whatsoever, nothing makes sense in the overall context, and everything seems meaningless.
The script is awfull in one word.

But hey, its still eye candy and a freaking zombi movie.
We need more "brain eating" movies.

Strange, the black level is very consistent throughout my viewing. My room is in complete darkness. You can check my review of the 3D version to see the gears I have used.

Best of luck.

black levels seem decent, but i will agree on the 3 alices shot. they show the 3 alices, cut away, back to the 3 alices. the second 3 alices shot (they start shooting uzis) is indeed horrible. there are a few bad shots, but that or the bad script wont stop me from saying: re4 kicks a$$

OK, no offense here to anyone is intended.
I've been reading this thread for days. I read concerns about the 3d version, black levels, brain eating, lack of plot--just to name a few.

AM I THE ONLY ONE THAT THINKS MILLA JOVOVICH IS SMOKING HOT!? (yes I was yelling)

All previously mentioned questions/concerns by others are just, but I have not read one post from someone complimenting Milla, thus, the reason for this post.

I'm not even a big fan of zombie movies, and probably would have very little interest in this if Milla was not in it. Hell, I never even played the game.

As for the Blu, wow! Top notch wall shaking audio, and great video. I think there was a plot in there somewhere too. Something about Alice in a rabbit hole...or maybe that was a different one

Default Love this movie!

Got the steelbook from WallyWorld. I really enjoyed this movie, this may be my fav of the RE movies so far.

PQ: Was really good, especially all the scenes that take place in the white ship at the end.

AQ: I was watching it thru the normal TV speakers, but even with out surround sound it sounded great!

Afterlife is probably the one that's the most true to the games, especially the last one.
The first game also came out in 1996. It was amazing at the time! Any game from 15 years ago feels dated and awkward to play when you try and revisit it. Especially when there are new ones out now that are way more advanced.

I wasn't suggesting make the movies identical to the games, but my God, they could have at least had the main characters be the main characters and followed a similar story. Doesn't mean there still couldn't have been surprises. Why don't they take Lara Croft out of the Tomb Raider movies... That would make a lot of sense!!! Maybe when they finally make a Halo movie we could ditch Master Chief and the Spartans all together.

Goldeneye and Mario 64 are still fun to play, as well as games from the SNES.

Tomb Raider is different in that it has one main character and little else. Resident Evil has many key characters and they're present throughout the films. The stories vary, but it's still the same basic concept - evil corporation, zombies, mutations, hot women killing zombies, etc.

Yeah, I'm a fan of Milla. She's gorgeous and is the best female action star since Sigourney Weaver and Linda Hamilton. And in some ways, she is superior.

That's true. But, aside from the Resident Evil name on it, it's just your typical zombie, virus, conspiracy movie. The reason I always wished it had, somewhat followed the plot of the first game was because that game could have made a cool, original story. Abandoned in the middle of nowhere in a huge mansion, with huge, underground labs and, secret passages, etc, etc... The movies just turned out to be "shoot em up" zombie movies. Which, is fine, but why even slap the Resident Evil name on them if you're going to stray so far from the games? Without fans of the games, you have nothing, and no reason to make the movies. Then, you go and change everything around as much as possible and just slap the name on it. Doesn't really make sense to me.

For people who've never seen it, you should check out Resident Evil: Degeneration. Doesn't follow the games to a T, but does everything way better than the live action movies did, story-wise.

And maybe it's just me, but Milla just doesn't do anything for me. It's probably because I prefer women who don't have the figure of a teenage boy.

Sure why not. It's a War you don't need to follow Master Cheif to follow the story. I am sure others had cool story's too. Also what about ODST and Reach no Master Chief needed.

Pretty easy. Like I said its about a war. Master chief was not the only guy in the war. Hell if you count Wars they made 3 games without him. Also using Tomb Raider as an example earlier was not quite right either. You used a game where they follow the exploits of one woman so nobody but Lara Croft would work. But for something that has a grand scale to it like a war or a zombie outbreak, something the affects millions of people then sure follow others that where not in the games because hey they are dealing with the same stuff.
