Anyone try for the Mondo drops today? Never seen Repo Man so didn't attempt. And seeing my luck the last two drops doubt I'd get one past checkout anyways

Dangs, I missed out on the info about the GID Mark Englert Battle at black water and I paid a hella lot through ebay through a buy it now option. $249 I think? Ah wells, least I don't have to stress about getting it. Probably the only print I absolutely needed to have.

Does anyone else have this poster too? I just got it off ebay.

I like the Battle at Black Water print a lot. The Argo print was from Mondo's Oscar drop. I still haven't seen Argo and couldn't figure this poster out at all... I assume it is the artwork of the 'fake' movie from the movie?

Also, I have tried so hard to resist on that Aliens AP, but I think I'm going to jump right in. I NEED that print, and this is definitely the only way to get it. The 'commissioned 10' will never let go of this print. It's too awesome!

You mean the almost $600 Aliens prints? I wish you luck. I want it almost as bad as you do but that's steep and never say never when it comes to selling stuff. You might be surprised at what people end up selling. I would have loved even if he had a run of the variants...or even a second variant.. (I like the reg the best).

Since the Aliens print was commissioned by those involved with the EB site, it more than likely will never see a print run beyond the small amount that were made so if you really want to be able to say "I own one" this is your only opportunity. I remember back when Mark was working on The Thing and releasing images of it, and then I started promoting him here since no on knew who he was, and some here were fortunate enough to get on that Thing print drop, which looking back, I wish I had bought more than one. I contacted him with some ideas for prints when he was just finishing up The Thing, but didn't think at the time to do a personal commission request. Maybe I will, but chances are his list is quite long now.

I wouldnt rule him out just yet (from doing personal commissions) but he is pretty busy now. For you he might since it seems you were helping getting his name out and about.

I'm pretty jealous of that Aliens print- I know it HAS to be a knock out in person.
That's my top fav scene in the entire movie "the lair of the Queen."

I'd chip-in for a commission too depending on subject. It would be cool to have a 1/10 or 1/x to whatever makes it affordable.

So based on what would be required to create a screen printed piece of work of the size that Mark does I would assume it would be considerably more than that. It would be a fun conversation to have at least... what could it be? $2500? $5000?

Who's taking point on this one? I know I asked this question to this group a while back when I first started getting into movie poster screen prints but I didn't want to kick the tires of any of the artists as I didn't have the ambition to actually follow through with a purchase funded by myself.

Naturally we'd all have to agree on the movie which can be tricky as the print run grows in size.

I'm way to new to this (extremely rare print posters and artwork) so me taking point would be ill advised. I'm in for a group, seriously in. Picking the movie will be hard for sure (we'd have to do something like everyone's top 5 or ten to see the common likes). Though from just talking with most of you I think we all kinda like/enjoy the same stuff.

Wow. I'll be sticking to drops for awhile. I still need to get my soffit and pj done. No wiggle room for that, though it sure would be AMAZING owning a X out of 10 or however any people start the group buy

Yeah, I think the battle at black water print will be the focus of my art prints. Gonna splurge and go the extra mile when it comes to framing it.

The artwork for the fake movie in the movie was very different, loved it though, very retro. I don'tknow where the artist drew inspiration for this print, but I really like it, really unique. And the fact that it can still be had for under $100 I figured I should grab it.

Killian Eng's Oblivion poster drops tomorrow on Mondo. It's a shame the movie so far hasn't lived up to the critics but when it comes to art who cares. Looks pretty cool.

Also reminder not about tomorrow's AP sale for the Battle of Blackwater. I just say on a comment on Bottlenecks Gallery someone saying they have a dedicated wall for Englert's art and Bottleneck responded better make some room. Looks like another print is coming in May!

I mentioned to Road that ultimately this thread IF possible should be renamed "Movie Posters" instead of just "Posters" and perhaps moved to the sub-folder "Collectibles and Limited Editions" under the main "Movies" thread when you click on the "Forums" tab. When you see the "Collectibles and Limited Editions" folder, there are links there, and having a link that says Movie Posters would be a great place for the thread to finally call a permanent home.
