Really? Why? I mean, how many takes does it take for each scene in a sitcom, 5? 10? When you hear the same joke 5-10 times, it's not funny anymore. Forced laughter doesn't sound better at all.

Evidently they nail it in far less than 5 takes. Check out the bonus features. I have been in the audience for a couple shows years ago. When I saw this setup I was very surprised. The audience is just barely over an arm lenghts away from the actors and they were busting up. It looked pretty natural to me.

It is a live audience, but they do what every show does and edit the audience reaction to make the response longer or shorter or whatever they need to fit the scene.

A lot of times, they try out different lines/jokes to see which ones land better.

I've been on numerous sets and shows, and I can tell you one thing: everything is funnier when you're there. Like a LOT funnier. Even things you'd never laugh at seem funny.

The Big Bang Theory is the only sitcom with a laugh track that I currently watch and I find the laugh track horridly forced. Many times you get a huge laugh for super lame jokes.

I don't know if other shows are like this now, but I find it much worse than older sitcoms. Maybe it's not worse and that maybe it's simply because I don't find this show as funny.

This show is a hit-or-miss. Sometimes I laugh my ass off but sometimes it's meh.

The pop culture references and geek culture are what make this show what it is. I loved the episode where Penny gets addicted to an MMORPG.

It's growing on me, still think Sheldon is uber annoying but it is pretty funny and Kaley is very attractive so I guess I may have to add it to the bunch of shows I'm watching right now.

The first 3 seasons were great, now the humor is just getting old. Is it just me or does anyone else feel this way?

I've been saying that since the beginning of Season 4.

There's still some laughs here and there, but the last two seasons are not even close to the first three.

It's you.

The addition of Amy and Bernadette should of helped things feel a little fresher for you. I could go for a good ep of them all going to a convention of some sort.

I dunno, I'm starting to like it but I already have over 110 seasons of TV on DVD and BD so I doubt I will get it, especially since there are still other TV seasons I want to get.

I've just started watching this show and love it, especially many of the references made throughout each episode. Currently have 35 on my TIVO box to watch.

It's not just them. If you visit other The Big Bang Theory discussion forums, MANY are saying the same thing, that the show is not as funny as it was in the first couple seasons.

I liked the show for its nerd characters which is getting old after three seasons since you cannot really develop the characters far without losing touch with the original premise.

Not sure where you are in your viewing of the show, but the 5th season is airing now.

I wonder if some don't find the show as funny now cause it's lost the 'new car smell'. Ya know, it's not new and different anymore so people are getting bored with it.

I've gotten used to the characters and now find the show hilarious, just not sure if it will be one I add to my collection. Will probably wait and see if I can get it cheap on BD at some point.

This show, along with Modern Family are still the best two sitcoms on TV right now IMO. I completely "hee hawed" at Amy giving Penny that oil painting!!! LOL!!
