I really have high hopes for this film (which is more than can be said for The Dark Tower). On another forum I frequent, somebody's got it listed as their favourite film of the year so far, above the likes of Get Out and Logan. It's listed as 'embargoed fall film,' but they've heavily suggested in other posts of theirs that they've seen an early cut.

The Wikipedia for this movie has a different title direct quote:

This means we may even get a part 2 and 3 in the future.

Stephen King described it in that way and somebody ran away with it, assuming it was the official title. It's not. There'll be a sequel (focusing on the characters as adults) depending on the success of this film, although I personally think it's a given. There's no way this'll flop.

The Wiki article also describes this as being an adaptation of both the book and the mini-series, which is untrue. It has nothing to do with the latter.

Anybody can edit Wikipedia though. Hell I could go on there now and change the title to The Giant Spider if I wanted to.

being that the book is supposed to take place in the 50s or 60s..yeah..they look a bit too stranger things.

Was thinking the exact same thing about the look of the kids in the remake. Stranger Things immediately came to mind.
