Definitely easy to recommend Killzone, MGS4, INfamous, or Resistance2

Some thoughts:

Maybe give Resistance 1 a try to see if you like it, pretty sure it can be had for around $30... plus then you'll get some of the awesome story.

Check out these too:

1. LittleBigPlanet if you like platformers
2. Resident Evil 5 if you like the previous RE games
3. Grand Theft Auto 4 if you like the previous GTA games
4. Warhawk if you like online games... easily the most played PS3 game in my house... can also be had for about $30. Steep learning curve, but stick with the rookie servers to start off with and you'll catch on.

nothing boring about Resistance 2 or Killzone 2. as for the demo of infamous, i had tons of fun just wandering the city destroying things. to each there own.

and perhaps he's a shooter type of guy. just like some people only play sports games.

No Call of Duty? Thats like the only game I play!! KillZone looks cool but haven't played it. Get COD Waw or wait for COD MWF2 to come out.

I can't believe you added Time Crisis 4 on to the poll, and even FOUR people have somehow voted for it? I never played it, though I wanted to. I just read WAY too many negative reviews about it. However, Haze is heavily negatively reviewed, and I didn't really think it was TERRIBLE. I just think that a game of its plot line and linearity is something people expected out of FPSes a few years ago. I really enjoyed the graphics (I'm not a "purist" so I didn't ever notice any glitches.) It also didn't have any really annoying, nearly-impossible segments. Also, if you didn't pick up Army of Two for the 360, you should try to pick it up cheap for either system. It's incredibly short, linear, and easy, but at least the brevity of the game allows you to play through the story modes long enough to max out all of your weapons. I just disliked being able to beat the game on the hardest difficulty even faster than I could on the previous difficulty levels.... I echo the sentiment of Valkyria Chronicles, you can find it at Wal-Mart for $40 right now. Even my local Wal-Mart suddenly got a bunch of copies in for the price drop (which incidentally, all the price drops on the game started TWO DAYS after I finally broke down and bought it for $60....)

One last recommendation: Assassin's Creed. I don't think I saw you list that on your list of games already owned for the 360, but it's a lot of fun. Many people simply CANNOT wait for the sequel....

seriously, pick up LBP. Its excellent!

Also, We've got a BUNCH of dedicated CoD players here. You should rent 5, and start playing with some people here to see how you feel.

Got everything in the cart, and just couldn't resist not adding MSG4. I was originally turned off to the game after reading a review that said it had hours upon hours of cutscenes, but I couldn't pass it up...

Those cutscenes in MGS4 are totally worth it and they help make it the great game it is... even though it is not estrictly necessary to have played the first three games, you will enjoy it even more if you did... Act 4 at Shadow Moses is just incredible...

Hands down!

Well, the PS3 shipped from Dell today, and is scheduled to be delivered tomorrow! Wish I had taken off from work so I could watch the Champions League Final and enjoy my PS3!

Will just have to wait until tomorrow night!

Get the rest of the games Friday (possibly Monday)...

Guess it will be Drake's first, then I'll probably split some time between KZ2 and MGS before hitting R2.

IMHO

1st and foremost
Uncharted (which you have taken care of) and LittleBigPlanet without question they were both Game of the year! LittleBigPlanet is probably my favorite game ever, and is fully supported by DLC to keep it relatively fresh (you need to pick and choose because there are too many costume packs that really add up in cost over time) But they do release level packs and creator packs, Fantastic multiplayer game (for both local and online)

Value for the money and a GREAT game Resident Evil 5 ... I'm not a serious gamer (Meaning if it is a hard game I won't be able to finnish it even on easy...enter Killzone 2), but this one had me from beginning to end and replay value is there to aquire unlimited ammo for the arm cannon

and more replay value once you get that!

And if you like online gameplay as well as a hard story mode but very good game Killzone 2. I had to get my kids to finnish the final battle it was too hard even on easy (rediculously hard) but to some it is probably a walk in the park (Shin-Ra).

EDIT: When the time comes the other must have according to most is Metal Gear Solid 4 (older and no trophy support if that is your thing) but I found it didnt grab my attention so I didn't get too far. But one of my boys finished the game and said he really enjoyed it (to many movie cut scenes for me and they were long but were relevant to the story)

Uhhh.... look two posts above yours....

Really, I thought it was fun. The only thing that killed it was the declaration of "PS3 Game of the Year Contender" by every gaming publication known to man. Otherwise, it's a very solid shooter. I enjoyed the plot line, too. It resembled an older (but new generation) Outer Limits episode about Earthlings fighting Martians over the mining rights to their planet. It turns out (at the very end) that the drugs that the earthlings were taking to "keep from catching the Martian's deadly viruses" was really a psychological drug that made the Earthlings see the Martians as "savage beasts" when they were really just other Earthlings from a rival mining corporation all along (the "Martians" were also taking hallucinogenic drugs to make the "Earthlings" look like horrid creatures as well....)

Then again, many claim for me to just be a "nobody"

Avoid Haze unless really really cheap. I picked it up at $10 and was only okay with how bad it was because of the price. I'd also highly recommend Drake's Uncharted which you are getting in the bundle. I'd consider it a must have for a PS3 owner. If you don't already own them for other systems....Call of Duty 4 & W@W as well as Fallout 3 would also be up there as definitely worth playing.
