If that's the case, then it would be prudent to add one thread (or perhaps merge multiple threads) as a sticky, would it not?

I am very well acquainted with the reviews. I've spent many hours carefully reading through each review contemplating which movie to purchase next. Although, it does become a bit monotonous when most of the reviews end in "This set easily receives my highest recommendation." No doubt they are all great movies, but if you were only to pick one, which would you choose? That's my dilemma.

Once you've done that, use another link at the top - SEARCH. You'll likely find 20 threads on the same title you are asking about, which you can read, and if your question still isn't answered, you can reply to asking for more info.
Ah, yes. The obligatory "use the search button" advice. Haha, indeed I've tried. But it's very difficult to search because you do not know the exact title of the thread. A search engine is powered by a wild card keyword search. Therefore, if I were to search for a similar thread, some example keywords would be "DVD", "Blu-Ray", "buy", and "own". Surely, thousands of posts and threads would pop up, and I certainly do not have ample time to peruse through each and every thread. And just for the record, I have read the reviews before posting, twice in fact; which leads me to the reason why I posted this question in the first place.

Regardless, thanks for your suggestions. I realize it may get frustrating after a while.

Always go with your taste. I personaly would never buy a movie that I know just does not fall in my taste range. I am not that crazy about war movies, many have quite stunning reviews and PQ but I won't bother watching them so even if they are beautiful, why bother getting them? I went way nuts on DVD and ended up with a HUGE collection. What I've notice in this last year as I am replacing some with BD is that many of my DVD's were bought, watched only once and then spend 10 years collecting dust. I am being more careful with my BD purchases this time.

I have a lot of friends and family over and they're always sifting through my DVD/Blu collection for something to watch. I think having a huge collection could be a good thing depending on who watches your movies

All those blu-rays are upgrades over the previous DVD editions (except Half Baked and Heat, which aren't out yet. Though I can only imagine they'll feature better audio and picture quality)

Trading Places is outstanding, it's like seeing the movie for the first time. I think of everything I own, that was one of the biggest surprises.

It depend on the person choice I suppose. In my case it's only me and my wife, she is as crazy about anime as me as well as Asian movies so those movies always get a lot of use. I suppose that yes depending on one's family and way of watching you could go for different type of movies.

I just ended with way too many one timers and I mean way too many I was serious when I said some were sitting there for 10 years. I went nuts in the early days of DVD back in 1998-20000. I was buying all the movies I figured I wanted only to realise I just wasn't that interested in seeing them too many times. You quickly run into a space problem and it's also a bit of a waste of money, well I figure for me. I suppose it's different for everyone.

Alright, so I just ordered Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl on amazon. I did not particularly like the other two, and thus it wouldn't be frugal to buy something I wouldn't watch. Although, due to the fact that I purchased it for so little, I also purchased Casino Royale to qualify for the free shipping.

Both of those movies (including the free shipping) came out to the same price as Raging Bull, which I got at Best Buy (and will be returning later today). Thanks for the tip benricci, and everyone else who contributed!

For me, it depends on the upgrade you'll get with the transfer.
