A lot of times there are two different box art covers.
It's a catalog title, and the DVD has seamless branching as well. Since we know that SB is working a-ok, there's no reason to believe that they couldn't use it for the minor (technically) differences

Default Robocop!!!!!

Hi...

Does anyone know for sure if this Robocop blu-ray will be a new transfer, or the same old crap that was supposed to be released last year? I'm hoping for the best seeing as the SD edition was just released with rave reviews. Also I am almost positive it is the directors cut

well i have done some thinking... seeing as fox has just released a new 2 disc special edition, that they struck up a new HD transfer for it. I believe that it will be the R/Unrated through seamless branching, and port all of the extras.

Seamless branching appears to be a very common theme in this year's titles

That was rushed out by Sony before the distribution deal ended with MGM. But, it was mercifully recalled.

I do remember that it was taken to be the absolute proof of the poor quality of Blu-ray. Like here

(That's rdjam's propaganda site, BTW).

Funny how now the utter superiority of Sony/Disney releases is now ignored or waved off as unimportant.

And he's quoting the aggressively neutral (which means HD DVD biased) DVD Talk

Thanks in advance.

I read, sorry I don't remember where, somewhere in an article that this is going to be the unrated, extended cut that will seamlessly include the extra scenes that were cut in order to get the movie from X rated to R.

DetroitSportsFan did Robocop influence your choice of name? Seems kinda fishy that you start this thread.

I hope it is the Director's Cut!! Have both the criterion version and the new 20th anniversary edition. (Cool Metal Box) Will be buyiny the blu-ray edition if it gets a good review on high-def digest.

Default I keep saying...

I keep saying on all the Robocop threads not to worry. If you look at the run time of Robocop Criterion Edition and you look at the run time of the MGM DVD version that was released a few years ago, they are the same run time which is 103 minutes. If you look on the back of the blu-ray box the run time is 103 minutes. I believe we will be okay that this will be the director cut with the extra footage. The suspense is killing us all isn't it... 103 minutes I know MGM/Fox will do the right thing...

Fox give me Predator... He won't kill you because you are not armed... No sport...

Hopefully this isn't the true box art that DVDEmpire.com has...disappointing features....and what's up with the Sony packaging if Fox was behind this release? I'm thinking it's wrong

I'm pretty sure that's the art for the raggedy old version that was supposed to come out before.
