I pre-ordered this today. My first 4K Blu! I'm sure I'll end up picking something else before this actually releases, but it's still fun.

Now I just need to upgrade my TV, receiver and player.

Ditto. Although I watched it in an Atmos theatre and didn't really notice any unique Atmos effects, I'd still like to have it at home if possible. Because, why not?

the overhead sound effects were minimal but when implemented were fun, notably during the fight scene in the fire, which put a lot of ceiling sound sourcing (the fire, creaking, crackling) to dramatic effect.

Oh, cool. Thanks for the info. Maybe the theatre I was in just didn't have the speaker volume set properly. When I get it at home I'm going to crank the overheads so I'll notice those fire sounds for sure, haha.

I just got an e-mail from Amazon updating my preorder with that release date. Looks like we'll be getting it on 5/10 after all. BTW, that's less than 3 months after the theatrical release which is insane for a movie that's gonna make over 3/4 of a billion dollars at the box office.

This is my first 4K blu-ray. I figure at that price, and with the regular blu-ray and the Digital HD version, I'm set. I already have a 4K TV and Dolby Atmos receiver, so I only need a good 4K player.

I've already watched it in theaters twice, and I'm sure I'll watch it at home and on the road multiple times.

Doubt UHD blu ray discs will be the sole disc. Not to compare what we have now (blu ray/DVD combos) because blu ray players are dirt cheap these days. But not everyone will have a UHD blu ray player in their bedrooms or offices. It may take YEARS for the price of a UHD blu ray player to fall below $80 so one can have a few in a household.
