At the time I purchased, the 15mb bundle with the TV and Phone packages together seemed to be the best no-brainer solution for us. I'm happy with it, especially since it seems that I'm actually getting what I'm paying for.

Thats what I was telling the other guy too. They advertise 50Mb up/down.

I'm actually a Comcast Tech, so I've got the good stuff in my house . Just arranging the line crew to balance my tap, It's killing my return. After that I'll be getting close to 40Mb/s download.

I have Clearwire, therefore, my numbers aren't going to as high as some of you guys, however, here are my test results from speedtest.net and speakeasy.com

Speedtest.net

Download Speed: 760 kb/s
Upload Speed: 339 kb/s

Speakeasy.com

Download Speed: 978 kb/s
Upload Speed: 243 kb/s

Not really much of an online gamer, therefore, I don't really care about high internet speeds.

The upload is weird, because it averages around 420 kbps, and then drops down to about 1/2 right at the end.

It's a problem with your return path. Could be as easy as switching out a splitter, or an F-Connector (Fitting). Check your return by doing this:

1. Open internet Explorer
2. type "192.168.100.1" into the address bar
3. Check signal levels

Signal levels should be:

Downstream:
SNR= (Must be higher than 30dB)
Received Signal Strength = (Between -10 and +10, Zero is best)
Bit Error Rate = (Should be Zero, or close to it)

Upstream:
Power Level = Must be lower than 55dBmV in order to establish a connection

**If your upstream power level is close to 55 or greater(can go up to 62 or so) then you're probably experiencing drop outs.

Where are you getting this 192.168.100.x number? My internal network at home is actually 192.168.1.x, connected to a Linksys router. Haven't really tried logging into the cable modem box itself though.

EDIT:
I take that back, it does route to the modem... very interesting... my upstream power level is actually 28 dBmV, so it's not that. Very cool though.

That is the address to any comcast modem diagnostics page. It will tell you if the modem dropped offline and whatnot, nothing to screw up and theres nothing wrong with looking at that stuff either. Most techs don't even know that they're able to check a modem's signal without plugging in their DSAM. Routers tend to have an address of "192.168.1.1" or "192.168.0.1" or "192.168.1.0"

That's only if you pay for that package, and it's significantly more expensive than the 20/5 I've got now.
