I took a look and I see that Mafia The Old Country isn't available to pre-order on US Amazon. I'm sure it will appear there since I also took a look at both CAN Amazon and UK Amazon and it's available to pre-order on those sites.

Looks like the US price for this game is $49.99 USD.

The UK price is £37.49 (though on Amazon right now to pre-order it's £33.29, which sounds like a good deal. That makes it roughly $45 USD)

In Canada, on Amazon, to pre-order it's $69.99 CAD (ugh, I can only hope that lowers a bit more eventually).

So when compared to other games this seems pretty fair. Yes, it'll be a shorter game than something like a Last of Us Part II but it aims to be just as good when it comes to story. Hangar 13 want you to experience an entertaining and well made story. That's what I'm seeing from the trailers. I trust this team since they won me over with the other games.

And hey, who knows. Maybe if people vote with their wallet with games like this (and Clair Obscur: Expedition 33) more companies will charge better prices for games.

I've been playing Mafia 1 and am currently stuck on the turret part of "Trip to the Country" I just have to keep trying.

Precise aiming with a controller is a headache.

August 8th is not far away with June here now. I hope they get a disc version up soon, but no hurry as the digital version isn't going anywhere. 49.99 is the price I'll go for either way, but aiming for the disc as that's a collectible and this team tends to have a fully playable game on the disc thankfully!

Good news, cars are confirmed in the game. No sign of motorcycles but they already had them in Mafia 1 remake, so I can hope.

I read the game is an adventure, and IGN said it's not open world, but takes place in the "city" of Sicily, Italy, which is the lower island the boot of Italy is kicking as they say.

Early 1900 Sicily still has a town setting, so it's not entirely wilderness. But I liked the wilderness presented in Mafia Remake and the other games including Mafia 3.

It looks like it's story driven and no side quest nonsense, which is good. I don't need lots of mini side quests to enjoy a game. Unless it offers some nice rewards, I rarely complete most of the side quests in most games (unless it was Fallout 3).

I am in agreement that games are fine without all of the side missions, as I honestly don't play much of them and rather just have a main story and I'll create my own side mission fun in the free roam. Usually testing out the world or city to see how it operates/reacts to the player.

Thanks for the links to the pre-orders. I kept typing in Mafia Old Country and it kept bringing up everything but the game. I see the game is called Mafia: THE Old Country. I'll say the search engine on the stores need improvement to not have been able to find my search words. Best Buy found it right away without anything exact. Amazon, no luck with their poor search results. The link found it though.

Mafia Definitive Edition had Free Ride. I'm just hoping this one has something similar.

Mafia II was the one where it didn't have Free Roam but you can explore during certain missions.

I see. That's true, Free Ride was a separate mode. So no need to be started inside of a mission or to select a mission to get access to the open map. I hope so too for a mode like that.

Why can’t we just get a mafia game where we can have mafia wars and extort businesses like we could in Godfather 2?

What is nice is the player seems to break his stealth and then goes into a battle from a blown cover. Much better that way than some strict games that are one way or fail and repeat until you get it. I rather just run 'n gun in the game if I mess up the stealth.

Preordered this. This is my number 1 game I was looking forward to since GTA got bumped to next year.
