My Blu-rays keep me at home ... thus, less money spent on gas.

They will pass the price onto you sooner or later. You may need to wait until your prime runs out but there may be a clause in there about that as far as I know.

Investors and tree huggers will continue to drive the price up. Investors will get away with it until people reduce consumption while tree huggers will only get worse.
Actually, a lot has to do with the weak U.S. dollar. As most commodities: oil, rice, soy, etc... are priced in dollars, as the dollar weakens it will take more of them in other nations local currencies to balance out. However, there is a great deal of capital (money) that is going into commodities as the equity (stock) and debt (bonds) markets have been of concern lately and the commodities markets have had great double digit plus returns. Usually, if equities are bad it would turn more investors to look at debt or real estate but with the credit concerns in the U.S. and global markets they are looking elsewhere, namely commodities.

As to the OP's original topic... it has not impacted by blu-ray purchases.

It hasn't effected my Blu-Ray buying much yet, but I was only really buying about 1 a month anyway. I am not really a big fan of the type of popcorn flicks that are getting released right now. But, I am alittle worried about having the disposable income to buy with when studios start to release more of their back catelog and a larger variety of Blus start getting released.

I do notice myself staying in on weekends more. But that just means buying from Amazon, instead of the b&m stores, which works out since Amazon is usually cheaper anyway.
Hahaha whenever I make plans with my friends it always ends with..."so whos driving?"

Dont make any difference, as long as you have a car, you will drive it eventually and pay for the gas, period.

One of these will be my next car.

www.greenvehicles.com

As far as I'm concerned this is one of many alternatives that is innevitable.
Hopefully soon I will have one.

The truth to gas prices is it's not any one thing making the price go up as some have said. It's a great many things one of which is plain greed.
As soon as I can get off the gas tit I will.

I know the DFW airport has a monorail system that feeds off into other areas of the DAFW area. Perhaps if an investment was made, you could see a monorail line go out to your area. The problem with Texas is that it is so spread out, it would be hard to service all the areas. I'm from Austin, and I know that they approved a light rail system before I left, but it still hasn't been set up. Houston has a lightrail system, but I don't know how effective it is. Texas is different animal than dense urban areas like there are on the East Coast.
Oh you do not understand my city has voted down all forms of thought out public transportation systems.. My city does not want dart to provide any transportation services ever..

All cities around us have a public transportation system, we have fought it out for odd reasons that I will never understand.

Fort Worth has a bus system, next to grandpraire they have a train that goes into the other cities, dallas has a bus system that was designed by phil the prince of insufficient light ruler of heck, as he carry's his giant spoon for he we dang all those who cross his path. There are many news stories of people ending up right where they started from, and others simply decided that walking would be quicker.

We do not have a train, a bus system, subway system, nor a system of balloons to take you to the other side of town.

Anyone that is curious...

Yeah, the nice thing out here is that you can get to all the sporting venues by the subway. Though, I don't bother seeing the Redskins at all.

As far as purchasing blu-rays goes, I will say that I do look for the deals more with blu-ray, but that's also because I know that another deal is just around the corner. Sadly I can't help myself sometimes. I do save money by shopping mostly at Amazon.

i walk to my main job as it only takes few mins by foot so i normally only drive up the street once or twice a week and then i take my car to my other job on sundays so i rarely have to spend money on gas.

I don't think it troubled me. It might trobled my parents because they're the one paying for both blu-rays and gas. They didn't tell me anything about saving tho(but i tried to save as much as i can).
