Wow, is that guy still at it? He is really pathetic. Must be really lonely if that is all he does all the time, trying to downplay every BD and PS3 accomplishment.

He was "upset" at one of his anonymous adversaries...In actuality Mike has come a long way, and actively supports Blu...well, most of the time.

Easy answer, he wants Indiana Jones to sell something like six million copies. Soon, very soon...

Considering Iron Man sold 840K in the first week according to HMM, and appeared in the top 10 several weeks after, it is now very safe to say that Iron Man surpassed 1 million Blu-Rays prior to the Dark Knight's release.

As I said in my post, Iron Man, BF, and TDK are enough to get the BD market from Early Adoption to Early Majority on the product life cycle. Half the battle is won when this transition happens.

The only thing that could possibly kill off Blu-ray right now is if someone makes a solid-state medium that can be produced cheaper than optical discs and mass produced for that matter.

At this point, we should see marketshare increase at a higher rate.

I would agree 100%. In fact, Iron Man probably surpassed the 1 million mark by its third week of release.

Why does any US company do business in Canada if they are so quick to ignore 10% marketshare?

For Blu-ray to fail, it has to be replaced by something. That won't be DVD. So, those in the "still can fail" brigade, what is the replacement?

If you mean it won't replace DVD, then that is NOT a definition of failure.

I really hate that most companies aren't going all out for Blu. Disney is the only one who is and because of their odd (but semi-logical) policies they're slow at releases.

If movies with huge cult fan bases like Star Wars were released in the beginning we'd have seen this kind of progress way earlier =/.

Yeah, that DVD thing would have succeeded if Lucas hadn't waited seven years to release Star Wars.

Star Wars and Indiana Jones are special because Lucas has a say about when they get released, and he is notorious for holding off until the format adoption is large.

According to dvdenfrancais.com. In Quebec/Canada the rate was 36 to 39% Blu-ray, the rest DVD's. Quite impressive since most stuff here cost more..
