Huh... I'm sorry I couldn't be of help then... I literally followed that guide word for word almost... The only differences being I left UPnP Disabled (as you pointed out) and MTU on Auto.... and I'm using wireless instead of WIRED... otherwise I followed everything exactly and it's working like a charm. I thought for sure it was the same issue as soon as I saw you list that router. I guess apart from putting everything back to defaults and giving it a shot I don't know what to tell ya... sorry I couldn't be of more help.

I had this exact issue before with the PS3 network.

I ended up not using wireless and I opened all ports I saw that the PS3 ip address was trying to utilize(I don't have the list available but I think there was about 5 or 6).

Once I did that I haven't had a problem since.

I tried wired.... but since I had the same issues... I went back to wireless so that I could go back to using that ethernet run for my PC that acts as my media server. I may try wired again though.

Have you tried setting up static IPs for every device you have?

I had issues with my laptop causing disconnects - once I gave everything a static IP issues have been very rare.

There is still a weird glitch once in awhile if the 2.4 ghz phone I'm using happens to try and use the same channel. It will instantly disconnect the internet until I change the channel on the phone or hang up.

You don't have anything else transmitting in your house do you?

You mentioned that this happens even with the PS3 being wired to your internet - this seems to coincide with it being a bum network card in the PS3, especially if other devices have no issues/latency problems using the same cable/plug/modem/ISP

Good luck!

I didn't read through the whole thread so sorry if I'm repeating someone else. But if you are using a lynksys wireless router, WRT54xx, they are notorious for dropping connections. It was a never ending battle for me until I found out that if you update the firmware for the router it solves the problem. I've gone from constant drops to no problems in months by updating the router.
