First off, new here and this is my first post, so hi. And I had to post this here because being new it wouldn't let me create a new thread (that's useful when you need help).

OK, introduction done with, now to the serious stuff!

Anyone else here got Che Parts 1 & 2? Anyone here got Che Parts 1 & 2 from LoveFilm?

The reason I ask this is because the other day I bought it used from CEX, only because I had money left over to spend from a trade in. Got it home and when I opened it, it had LoveFilm stickers on the centre of the discs so clearly it was an ex Lovefilm disc for starters.

I put Part 1 in my new, less than 3 week old stand alone BluRay player and WOOSHH, the disc caused so much vibration I could hear it in the next room, I could feel the machine shaking, and actually feared for it's safety. It was ridiculous. So I flicked through the chapters just to see if the film played. It did, but as the chapters went on, the vibrations stopped. After chapter 5 or 6 it had gone. Funnily enough, where chapters 5 or 6 start, this is AFTER where the LoveFilm sticker ends on top of the disc and where the vibrating had vanished.

I then tried it in my PS3 to see if it was my bluray player. Same thing happened. It does it in two different blu-ray players.

Not willing to risk my not exactly cheap hardware I took it back to CEX and said it was faulty. I mean, to me, it seemed like the disc could have been out of balance or something and that's what caused the massive vibrations.

Because the film would play on their PS3, and they were clearly too inept to even understand what I was talking about, they said it wasn't actually faulty. Wouldn't refund me but did give a me a voucher for the cost of it.

Hell they even put it back on sale.

Fine whatever, couldn't be bothered arguing.

Today I went to a different CEX store to buy Che Parts 1 & 2 again with the voucher. Low and behold, it was another LoveFilm edition! I took it anyway, just to see.

Guess what. Yet again, the disc vibrates absolutely hideously, and does tha same thing, and in both players.

What on earth is going on? Is this an issue with LoveFilm blu-rays or what? Is it an issue with Che on BluRay? And these are the only BluRays I've ever had this problem with.

I'm at a loss what to do here.

Sounds like a faulty disc. If I were you, I'd take it back to CEX and either ask for a full refund or a replacement with the proper disc.

And by the way, the reason you need a certain number of posts before making a thread is to reduce spam.

The thing is though I've already replaced it once and the same thing happens with this replacement I got today.

Like trying to get the morons that work at CEX to see this problem is like trying to set fire to a space shuttle heat shield (maybe that's a bad example but that's all I could think of).

I've also read at various forums other people have had this issue. I was wondering if it was a known issue with maybe a faulty batch or the discs do it anyway because of Optimum Releasing cheapness or whether it was a LoveFilm issue or what.

I'm hinging on just ordering the thing from HMV or something online and just getting rid of the one I just got back to CEX but I'm paranoid even the one I get from HMV will do this.

Hmm, I haven't heard other people have problems and mine works fine. However, if you have heard this then maybe there are a faulty batch, like you said.

Still though, I would go back to CEX one last time and just ask for a refund because it's not right that you're getting an ex-rental copy. That disc could have been used many times and may be causing the problem.

Hello Viggo - and welcome to the community

I also have the two Che discs from Optimum but have not experienced the issue you describe in your post.

Rented parts 1 & 2 from Lovefilm and had exactly the same problems as you experienced. Kept meaning to buy this and something else always came along so I'll probably give it another whirl, and hope the faulty batch misses me second time round.

I'm stunned this has no english subtitles except for the Spanish sequences. I find it extremely hard to understand and even hear what they are speaking in english. I have no issues what so ever to understand english but as most of the New York scenes are 'dubbed' it makes it even more difficult to hear especially if you are watching this film at night while others are sleeping and you can't turn the volume up. And even if you do you'll be deaf by the time it goes back to spanish dialogue.

Such a shame. It really makes this film nearly unwatchable. I'd like to know if this is something the director requested or is this just another example of Optimums arrogance towards European customers?

I had this problem also. I watch most films with subtitles on anyway, just because it helps if an actor mutters or something, but in the case of Che, for the most part, I had very little idea about what was going on, apart from what I already knew about the general timeline of events, as the dialogue is so poor.

I'm thinking this could be my next purchase.

Could you tell me please if there is any difference between the two disc set and the Parts 1 & 2 singles? Special Features missing etc?

Amazon UK has parts 1&2 for £8.04 while the 1 & 2 discs are £6.49 each...makes me very suspicious.

Thanks,

Bleu

I got the Canadian set for under six quid from a Playtrade seller.

It's locked to region A, but not a problem for me.
