LOTR: Double Dip on Extended Versions?

Upconverted DVD's just don't work for me anymore. They were fine for a couple months, because they looked so much better than standard display DVD, but now that I have a lot of Blurays to watch, I can't stand upconverted DVD.

Ditto. It is the "curse" of owning high definition TV's and source material. Once you raise your standard it is hard to go back. The same thing happened when hi-fi audio "came of age" in the 80's. There are songs that I like but won't listen to because of their poor recording quality.

Rent theatrical, buy extended...I'm not double dipping twice when I already have the extended DVD set and I know they'll release the extended eventually.

Watch Extended DVDs...wait for Extended Blu-Ray...but even then, might want to wait for "complete" Blu-Ray set coming out after the Blu-Ray's of Hobbit One and Hobbit Two...you know a mega set is going to come when this saga is complete and they've sucked each film dry individually.
