LOTR: Double Dip on Extended Versions? - Blu-ray Forum

Me, I will wait for the extended versions to come out on Blu. I would feel just too rediculous owning these two versions on DVD and then on Blu-ray. But thats just me...

What are your plans for the Theatrical and Extended releases on blu?

No plans at all. I wont be buying theatrical or extended. I fall asleep every time I attempt to watch these movies.

I am buying both. I have been restraining myself from watching the DVDs for a long time. There's no way that I can hold off until the extended editions are released. Give me great PQ and HD audio and I am 100% in for both!

Definately wait for Extended versions, did so on DVD. Would be great if The Silmarillion made it to film sometime as a prequel.

Yea, we have a thread on the LOTR Blu-ray already.

I'll be getting the Theatrical versions for now. I've never seen the EE versions but will probably at least rent them.

I've already waited three years to watch LOTR on blu, I'm not going to wait another year or more. I held out for EE on DVD, because they at least had release dates publicized, and you only had to wait like five or six months... they got me this time, I'll double-dip.

I'll definitely be holding off for the EE's as well. No way I'd buy the theatrical cut BD. Can't wait though!

I will be buying neither...you want a good definition of the movies...watch Clerks. Its about some midgets walking.....and thats about it. Oh yeah and because Peter Jackson is a hack!

Agreed. Not to be a hater - I can't stand these movies but I realize there are lots of fans here - but do these movies need to get even LONGER?

Im not a big fan, I will buy these but not the ee. I don't need it to be any longer than it already is.

Just finnished The two towers on DVD, extended. Glad I waited on buying the DVD as the EE are so much more. Will only buy EE on blu as I will feel something is missing otherwise.

Haven't seen the Extended cuts, but i'm dying to do so now....i'm still stuck wether to wait or just go for the theatrical cuts....

i'm gonna get the theatricals in Nov. (if that release date holds) and just keep my standard dvd extended editions. i like the book look to them.

I'm happy with owning the extended DVDs. I don't watch the movies enough to double dip on blu.
