Man, I wish Amazon was safe to buy from... Its ridicusly cheap right now, but you never can be too sure if your package escapes customs or not.

After looking over all the extras in the Alien Anthology...Fox definitely could have done more for this set.

It would have been perfect with an Audio Commentary + an Interactive mode during the movie...maybe like a facts and trivia track, god knows theres thousands of things to point out in the movie.

I can't believe there is only 8 hours of special features. Shame on Fox and JC

All you guys ordering Avatar do realize they have a promotion where you can save $5 on one other Blu from a selection? The other ones were from 11-13 dollars...not bad, and there are many others to choose from.

Unfortunately, that's only on Amazon US. At the same time, it's not like I was running out to get KoH anyways, so no money lost on my part

I meant I did it already for Avatar and Kingdom of Heaven, not that the promo was done. Sorry for any confusion.

Lol coulda one eiter way, that's why I said I may be misreading. But I still don't know which other Blu I want. I don't want KoH because Ive never seen it. I even considered Eragon I saw it in theatres years back and remember liking it, but now I think I was just young and dumb.

I'm not sure... It is in my Gold Box right now, so I could get it for $23.75 or so... but I haven't seen it... so I'm unsure on the blindbuy.

This seems to be a love it or hate it movie, and I can't get a good read on the people who like it.

I don't think the film itself is as divisive as the hype that surrounds it. Like any other big Hollywood event film in the last few years, the internet hype surrounding Avatar was tremendous, and for a lot of people, it lived up to it (myself included). For others, who didn't think it lived up to the hype, they feel they have to be on the other extreme in order to have their voices heard, even if they didn't necessarily hate it, they act like they loathed the film because they felt it was overrated. To be honest, I think it's a great blind-buy. At 24.99, you could do a lot worse. Three versions of the film and two discs with dozens of hours of special features, plus, to me, the film is very agreeable and can be enjoyed by anyone. It's probably one of the best blind-buys you could do, but it's up to you.

Get it. It's an amazing sic-fi epic, if you can ignore simple flaws. Even Star Wars had its problems, but somehow people ignore them (blasphemy!). I say the same for Avatar. It's awesome, but obviously not perfect.

James Cameron the director >>>>>> James Cameron the writer. He's a visionary, one of the great directors of our time, but his writing needs a second pair of eyes sometimes. But really, his writing is more just bricks and mortar, not bad, just not holy crap amazing. It's serviceable, and tells the story well. But the sheer awesome power of the film lies in it's imagination and simple storytelling. It's just a great sci-fi fantasy epic. Just sit back and enjoy the ride, you'll be glad you did.
