Personally, I put Davey and Neyteri on the same level. They both rock as realistic CG characters and show how great CG can be if you're do it right.

Beat me to it. The review just made me want this set that much more. I will get this set and, if I have the desire and means to enjoy 3D blu-rays, I'll just double dip and get it. I already held out since March/April to get Avatar and I'm not waiting longer, especially with 20 tons of special features that will surely get 5 stars when Blu-Ray.com's review comes. This set will be mine by New Year's.

Digital Bits' review is interesting. It will be interesting to see if others agree that this new release's video quality is as good as the first release. James Cameron insisted that the first release would use every spec of possible storage for the movie only and, thus, be the definitive version as far as image quality goes.

I look forward to the "screenshot scientists" over at AVS getting ahold of the new release and comparing the video quality to the first release. Something tells me they'll find something that bugs them.

They still had somewhere around 3 Gigs of space leftover on the barebones release, so it's not a shock at all that the reviewer says that this looks just as good as that first release.

I still want to know more about the family audio track - is it 2.0, 5.1, or lossless DTS?

Ive been to several Best Buys over the past few days and I noticed that they no longer carry the old Avatar blu-ray

Its not even available for store pickup from the website

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Avatar+-...atar&lp=1&cp=1

Looks like they are completely phasing out the old disc for the new one

So why is anyone going to buy this from region A when they can't watch disc 2 and 3

By this logic, any positive review for a movie is political...and if I see overwhelming negative reviews I'll know the critics were all rightists...?

I didn't think the picture quality would suffer much. I don't know how big 16 extra minutes would be, but I didn't think it would matter too much. It wasn't like they were trying to reinsert the other 45 minutes that were still deleted, then I would worry about the quality. It should still look as awesome as the movie only disc.

Not to insult the Russians, but that spelling made me think of how a baby would try to say Avatar. Again, not meant to offend, it was just what I thought.

No digital copy. In all the news and Digital Bits review I read, digital copies never came up. Have to go to iTunes for Avatar.

I was about to say whatever Avatar would normally be, but I realized that made no sense when I reread the audio part of the review. No idea. I'm sure parents won't care if they can watch Avatar as a family without worrying about the cursing.

My own question is about which versions of the film will contain the family audio track. When I read the first story about the all the goodies in the new set, it said the family audio track would be with the theatrical and +8 minutes versions. The review made it sound like all three versions will have the family audio track. My question is how many of the versions will be able to play the family audio track.

You mean the cardboard slots? I didn't like that packaging. Wasn't very practical.
