Default Todd Slater's Voltron Prints

All of your framed pieces everyone look great, congrats!

By the way, artist Todd Slater just put up his "Voltron" prints up for sale, including the foil variant. Very limited, so if you are wanting to get one, the link is below, he just put them up a few minutes ago.

Update: Todd has sold out of his Voltron prints.

Excellent idea. The illumination behind the poster is awesome. Don't think I've seen anything like that before.

These two were just delivered yesterday, Rhys Cooper's "Ghost of the Indianapolis" (Jaws) and Tracie Ching's Dr Strangelove. As soon as they're flat, they're both off to my framer. (Crappy iPhone pics, sorry.)

Don't you mean MoviePoster.com? They are reputable. Avoid MovieGoods.com, "reputable" isn't a word I would use to describe them and many others feel the same.

It depends on when it gets released by the studios, soon after, poster dealers that can carry it will offer it via their site, or some will post on eBay as sometimes employees get them and sell them or they give them out to friends who sell them. If you go through eBay make sure you ask the seller the condition, and how they plan on packaging it up for shipping.

Highly doubtful, anything Disney/Marvel is incredibly difficult for poster dealers to get, generally the ones out there are ones from theaters and those tend to not be in mint condition due to poor packaging by the distribution hubs to the theaters. Some manage to arrive quite nice but many dont. They will only go in price from there....

I have original Rushmore and Titanic posters- surprised they aren't higher in value by now. Where is the real value in collecting these?

Value really is dependent on what collectors will pay. Originals do go up in value, some faster than others, you certainly want to hold on to your originals for as long as possible unless someone makes you an offer you can't refuse. That is what happened with me with my original Star Wars posters, someone offered me a very good offer back in the late 90's and I went with it. Titanic still has it's popularity but its not as strong as it used to be. Remember the originals have gold colored credits, the reprints have blue colored credits.

I got your PM's, will respond later as I am heading out the door soon for a while.

Did anyone else get Mondo's glow in the dark Creepshow? I was extremely disappointed when I got it home from the frame shop today to find that, in the dark, it doesn't glow at all! How is that possible? Could I somehow have gotten a 'defective' poster?

Did they do a standard non-glow in the dark version as well as a glow in the dark variant perhaps? If so, are you sure you bought the glow in the dark version? It is possible they sent you either a non-glow or maybe it is a defective print, or even slightly possible they nixed the glow in the dark highlights all together. You should contact Mondo directly and let them know, as they should be able to give you all the right answers and take care of you if the print sent to you wasn't what you ordered.

Yes and yes. (The standard version is blue, and the glow version is green.) Unfortunately, as the poster sold out from Mondo (as they always do), I had to buy it from a third-party seller on eBay. So I'm assuming there's no way to get a replacement.

Ok, so when you bought it off eBay, did you buy the standard version (blue) or the glow in the dark (green) version? If someone was selling the standard version as having glow in the dark highlights, then they misrepresented the print and you should open up a dispute with eBay.

I bought the green glow version. It seems unlikely that someone would manufacture a 'bootleg' poster for a relatively low cost item, right? I bought it for $165, so it's not like some super-rare vintage poster that sells for $1,000 and up. I've heard about counterfeit posters before, but they're always things like original Dracula posters and the like. The seller has a feedback score of 100% on 333 sales too. Could it be some sort of non-functional/defective poster then? Do such things exist, specifically for glow-in-the-dark posters?

In your case I can't imagine someone would try to counterfeit a Mondo screenprint, however, nothing is impossible. A few years ago I saw movie dealers selling knockoffs of Martin Ansin's Scott Pilgrim print as well as Stout's Iron Man 2 prints. I let Mondo know, at first, their response was as if they didn't seem to phased by it, but then when I started seeing more of them popping up, Mondo took action and I believe sent them all cease and desist letters. So to answer your question, nothing in the world of movie posters and screenprints is unlikely. Oh, and just because a poster isn't super rare vintage, doesn't mean counterfiets don't exist, trust me, with regards to movie posters, even titles that are under $100 have counterfiets out there. It's all about the dollars and some sellers try to slip under the radar as long as they can by producing that garbage as much as they can.

In your case, I am not saying the seller is at fault, Mondo MAY have nixed the glow in the dark on the print, you never know, that is why I think you should contact Mondo, explain to them that you bought a green glow in the dark variant off a seller on eBay but that it doesn't glow, and ask them if they indeed made a glow in the dark version, or if that was not added to the final print design. I am sure they can tell you. Maybe even they can help you out with a replacement, long shot I am sure, but you never know. Also ask them what parts of the print glow in the dark, there could in fact only be small portions that do. The Stout Iron Man 2 glow in the dark variant only has a few small portions of the print that glows, not the entire thing so this could be the case of the Creepshow one too.
