How's this for fast? I ordered yesterday and received today! Granted, I'm in the same state but that is fast and I was pleasantly surprised. I did have to pay sales tax though. Still a great deal.
Any tips on setting this bad boy up? Looks daunting....

Wow, this sounds like a great deal on the 92. I wonder if ABT or Tweeter by me will match the price. Has anyone tried a PM at a B&M like Tweeter?

ABT is usually good if they can cover their margin over cost. But cost on this unit sounds like $700, so that would only be about a 14% margin for them.

If not, I am in Illinois so should be no sales tax and I am not far from WI.

To the people who bought Pio Elites from this vendor at videogon, did you get receipts that are from an authorized Pio Elite shop as confirmed on the Pio website? The warranty issue concerns me. I'm pretty hesitant about this deal.

I am curious are all the Pioneer Elites manufactured in Japan?

Or are these of cheaper build quality coming out of China?

My 94 is from Malsysia.
But my 95 is from Japan.

But all the elites carry the same warranty and use tested parts. That is why they are more expensive than the standard models.

Spoke to Phil of http://www.hifiheaven.net/ today about ordering the 92TXH. As the thread title says its $799.99 + $50.00 shipping to CT. I asked how warrenty service would be handled since I'm in CT and hi fi heaven is selling a unit from WI. Phil assured me Pioneer will honor the warrenty as long as I send it directly to a Pioneer service center and don't try to bring it to a CT area "dealer" and ask them to send it for me (of course a CT dealer wouldn't like that I bought out of his network).

I then asked what if a Pioneer service center refused service? He said I could always send it to hi fi heaven and they would send it to a Pioneer service center for me.

Looks like I'll be ordering one of these next week.

I bought mine for a little more than listed here from cameraddicts.com They offered me a 1 year warranty for $29 because of the lack of a factory warranty on elite products sold by 3rd parties. For what I saved the $30 was well worth it and I'd recommend them to anyone.

Can anyone fill me in as to if they've actually got this deal? I'm a little iffy on it seeing it's not a major named place like best buy of fry's. This isn't a scam or anything is it?

The only issue you face is that Pioneer Elite has no authorized internet dealers. They don't even sell their unit on-line themselves. This is why places like Amazon don't sell Elite. What that means is you have no warranty through Pioneer on the unit. The site you bought it from may back it, but Pioneer will not.

Is this really buying over the internet, or just calling a dealer in WI and buying it from them?? Doesn't look like you can buy anything online from them.
