T5E(Remastered) when LeeLoo is regenerated in the big clear tube in the lab, she escapes from there, gets out on the ledge of the building in the future NYC, jumps off, is picked up by Corbin Dallas(Willis) & chase scene with cops. Is that Chapter 13? Anyway, that's always been a good demo for either HD or DVD. That could sell a few BD players.

Another good demo from the same movie is when the diva sings the aria on board the big spaceship with the earthlike planet out the window as the backdrop, the bad aliens show up and LeeLoo kicks their @##.

the opening scene in casino royale is pretty dope as far as demo material... Pirates 2, basically the entire movie is pretty awesome also.

I think that 3:10 to Yuma will also blow your friends away. Oh and one more, The opening scene in Shooter is a cinematic masterpiece as well

do you pause the movie and then take the photo.
if I have the curtians open its to bright and washes out my tv with them closed the camera acts like its at night and need a lover exposure. and if I put my flash on again washed out the picture.
Those are actual screen shots from my laptop. No camera is involved.

One of the perks of a computer that can play Blu-ray Discs.

I'm not sure. I know when my Dad came over to the house, I put on the first space segment of THE FOUNTAIN, when he snaps awake and then floats down to the ground in the bubble and does the tae kwon do against the stars. That image always blows me away.

If my folks do pop in when they come back from their trip this weekend, I think I'll put on the "Strawberry Fields Forever" or the "Happiness Is A Warm Gun" number from ACROSS THE UNIVERSE. Those ones were real explosions of color and visuals.

I dunno. I always liked to do sort of a "buffet table" night with my Blu-Ray player. To invite someone or a few people over and not show them one movie, but just my favorite scenes from the various Blu-Ray movies I have to show off the PQ and the SQ of the discs.

Reginaroadie:

I don't know what kind of movies your parents like, but Big Fish by Tim Burton(with Ewan McGregor, Billy Crudup, Albert Finney, Jessica Lange, Alison Lohman, Helena Bonham Carter & Danny Devito) is a wonderful and fun film, that for me was an all around feel good movie. Big Fish on Blu-Ray is wonderful! A good demo for BD and your family will enjoy it. I'm not going to pick out any one scene here, but will say that the whole movie is worth watching.

And if your dad likes the Rocky movies, then Rocky Balboa is a good choice. Watched that on BD a few months ago, and it is super clear & sharp. Every last fiber on clothing, even lint, every strand of hair, every bead of sweat, every skin pore practically, everything!

The very first BD I ever watched, which came in the Panasonic box was Eight Below, an Antarctic adventure film by Disney with reference quality picture & sound. It was quickly obvious why Panasonic chose to include that in the package to show off Blu-Ray. Another worthwhile movie with many good demo scenes.

I dunno. My Mom's more of the movie person. And I think only ATONEMENT is going to excite her if it ever comes to Blu-Ray. She goes nuts for anything British except for the most popular stuff (The Office, Doctor Who, Little Britain, Monty Python, etc).

Dad not too sure. Not really a movie guy himself. But I think THE LAST WALTZ would excite him. He loves that kind of music.

I think the end of Casino Royale has the best shots to show off. 2 shots in particular:
1) When Bond and Vesper first sail into Venice there is an great 3-d effect in the shot of St. Mark's square.
2) At the very end of the movie when the camera zooms in on the estate on the lake, the 3-d effect is very pronounced.

I personally can't wait till every Blu looks like these all the way through. Why is it that it is mainly certain scenes that stand out? In the future will every scene on a Blu ray be perfect?
The opening of Casino Royale was insane! I wish the movie would have kept this pace a little more. Stunning visuals.
Open Seaon and Cars are both "show offs" in my book.
I fell in love with all the forest shots in Apocolypto. Absolutely gorgeous depth and greenery.
I hope one day everything will burst with the depth and clarity and colors of the POTC series. Will this happen?
