Default Best 'bad' blu ray scenes

meaning that sometimes Blu ray PQ is so good, some scenes look REALLY fake

I just watched 'Commando' on Blu and one scene in particular towards the end, Arnold has set up all these explosives around the enemies bunkers.

All hell breaks loose, The bad guys come running out and Arnold detonates all those set bombs.

on BLU it is so detailed and BAD it's good. you see these mannequins not moving at all while being blown to bits because you can very easily see them being held up with poles.. I had a good laugh.

what other scenes do you consider so bad they are good?

Gotta love the beginning of Predator when they attack the village, every other explosion shows someone flying out of a building or off a rooftop and now you can see the detail in their faces when they fall, makes it just that much more entertaining.

i saw one of the pirates movies playing in a store and it looked rediculous. it just looked like people playing dress up. just didn't have any cinematic quality. it was a scene wear sparrow was on a dock or something talking to 2 soldier guys and it was sunny out.

I know what you mean. I felt this way about the beginning of The Rock, when they are breaking in and stealing the VX gas. The plant just looked...well, really prop like. Great movie though, and thats the only scene that stood out.

The laser beam from the gun that the Predator shoots looks extremely fake and when it hits a human target, the little explosion looked extremely fake.

An early traning scene in Dune (import) looks very fake (the shield around them).

Some of the closeups in Twister (of the twisters) looked a little fake.

Some of the special effects in Dragon Wars looked fake and that surprised me a little since it's more recent. IIRC, the dragon going through the city is what looked the most fake (distant shots).

For the most part though, I rarely notice that sort of thing when watching the movie. It's usually after when I start freeze-framing through them or looking for something in certain scenes that I notice it.

Although I am yet to see them on Blu-ray, I've heard Dawn and Day of the Dead have some very artificial special effects.

There are some pretty obvious wires visible in Face/Off, especially during the airport hangar sequence. It only adds to the lovely retardedness of that movie.

Then you need to see them the effects are quite good considering how old the movies are very realistic guts and gore

CLOSE ENCOUNTERS OF THE THIRD KIND

When the actual mothership comes over the mountain and moves into place, you can tell that it's an FX shot and that the ship itself isn't in the environment of the shot. And it's even worse when the doors open up, because you can see the black blob above the practical doors opening up that's supposed to indicate that it's a part of the ship.

It's times like that that I don't like 1080p, since it breaks the suspension of disbelief and takes you out of the moment.

For me, it would have to be Shoot 'Em Up, since all the squib hits and gunshot flashes are CG. This one part where a guy is shot in the crotch and is spurting blood everywhere looked so bad.
