Default Best SCENES to show off Blu-ray?

I know that many people have listed their favorite BDs for picture quality, but I'd like to narrow that down even further and get the best SCENES from those BDs. Putting it another way, if you wanted to impress someone with how great Blu-ray looks on your new HD display, and you only had 15 minutes (more or less) to do it, which SCENE from which Blu-ray disc would you choose?

Thanks,
Russell

I like to show the chase scene from the opening of Casino Royale. That usually blows their minds.

I have shown many scenes from Crank friends to show off the blu... Every scene in this movie is crystal clear, audio is also incredible. Some say the movie in general is not the best but, I, personally love this movie from opening to end credits.

I like to show the Ministry of Magic battle at the end of Harry Potter and the Order of the Pheonix. I think it is a fantastic action sequence from a great film.

The first 15 minutes of CARS is absolutely mind blowing. I'd demo that above all else.

In fact nothing even comes close, so I can't even suggest a 2nd opinion.

There are a lot of them but below are some of the ones I've used lately.

Deja Vu -- ferry exploding scene at the beginning

Sunshine -- the first time the oxygen garden is shown

Cars -- just about any scene

Planet Earth -- although mostly b/c it's just incredible to watch, the scene where the shark comes completely out of the water. They should use that in a Jaws remake or something. IMO, an awesome display and pretty terrifying.

I agree.

The underwater scenes from the documentary Galapogos are great.

Another great demo scene is in the movie Sunshine, when the two astronauts are out repairing the damaged heat panel and they begin to run out of time as the incendiary sunlight starts racing towards them over the horizon of the heat shield. The sight and sound of that entire sequence is just mind blowing.

i would say the scene in casino royale when bond is in the bahamas and the woman jumps off the horse on the beach and there are other awesome views of the various countries where they shot the movie, also the scene in fantastic 4 the silver surfer when the ferris wheel is falling and in apocalypto the scene where they are up on the temple and they show a shot looking down at all the people,in the movie troy when they get on the boat after orlando bloom sneaks the woman on board, checkout the water and for animated, the opening scene on cars when you see the stadium and all the camers flashing and the cars roaring by,i agree with you RICHIEB1971

Just about any scene from Planet Earth, Cars, and Ratatouille.

Then the eclipse/sacrafice scene from Apocalypto.

I like the scene in POTC: Dead Man's Chest, when you fist see jack seated on the throne....through the end when they get chased back on to the boat....the jungle looks amazing! Such great vivid colors!

A great scene to illustrate the power of Blu is the executions scene at the top of the pyramid in Apocalypto. Not only are the colors amazing and the details of the costumes (not to mention the gore) eye-popping, but the long shots of the crowd down below show details in the people's faces even though they are shown from quite a distance a way. I think the differences between Blu-ray and DVD are most apparent when you have a brightly-lit scene that shows figures at a far distance. It would be all blurry or out of focus on standard DVD.

The Wild... several scenes.
Where the hippo and kangaroo are talking to Ryan, and where the chameleons mess with Benny the squirrel stand out though.

When they show the tropics in Casino Royale is a good one (I'm probably thinking of the same scene others have mentioned).

For a while, I used a scene from Hellboy. Near the beginning, there is a scene where it's raining and they're sneaking up on the Nazis, I think it was. There is a steely-blue tint to everything but I thought the scene looked pretty incredible. There are a few scenes in Kingdom of Heaven like that as well.

Ha, those are great.

You need to find the thread (pretty recent) where someone is asking how to make screencaps of blu-rays that they're playing on their computer (if that's how you got these). I think there were a couple of people in the thread wanting to know what they could use to take screenshots.

From what I have been told, the way *I* do it is illegal.
So, to not get banned, I won't describe how I do it.

Man! I love this VAIO!
